Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
Followed the recipe to a "T"!!! I was only able to marinade for 1 1/2 hours before our guests were dying of hunger.. and it turned out superbly!! I got requests for the recipe from all guests!!! Served with wasabi mashed potatoes and japanese zucchini+onions from this site. Great, impressive 5**** meal. Thanks!!

Truly the BEST of quick, super tasty, and EASY (wow... I mean EASY!) weeknight meals. Oh, and did I say tasty?? :-) Lowfat sourcream worked great! I also used cream of mushroom soup w/ garlic. A fantastic, delicious meal! Thanks!

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Hmmm.. not what I was expecting. The dressing tasted a little off. I did add the mandarin juice, which salvaged it I think. My husband did say it was "ridiculous!", so I will give it 4**'s. Don't think I'll be making it again, though.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
I give this recipe 5 stars for the absolute genius of adding pumpkin to my chili!!! Hubbie and I LOVED it.. he insists that I make it again soon! However, the end-result was not b/c I followed the recipe exactly. Quite the contrary... I DID read the reviews thoroughly and used quite a few of them to make this top-notch chili a success!: 1) Add can of black beans, 2) Add can of corn, 3) Add 1 1/2 cans of diced tomatoes, 4)Add packet of taco seasoning, 5) Add 3x chili powder, 6) Add nearly a whole can of chicken broth (good for consistency and flavor), 7) Add 2 TBS worcestershire and 8) Add dashes of cinnamon and nutmeg to REALLY bring out the complexity of the pumpkin in this chili. Absolutely delicious! Thanks so much!

This is so fantastic and so easy... a great way to get your daily fruit helping into your diet! Everytime I open my fridge, it calls out to me! I've made for friends (baby showers, brunches) and family, and have always received rave reviews. Thanks!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
Sooo easy and definitely the HIT of the party!!! It's crazy how such a simple dip can completely impress so many people. I give a big thumbs up to the canned chicken, but I have yet to try it with shredding chicken breasts. I also made mine as a huge, double batch in the crock pot, but I will likely try to layer it next time b/c mine STILL got a film of orange grease that floated to the top... even though I left out the shredded cheese entirely from the recipe. Oh well... no body seemed to mind! It's still ridiculously delicious!

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
This recipe got me compliments from all 8 people at the dinner table tonight! We were having a post-thanksgiving weekend dinner (with turkey, green bean casserole, etc.)and this was the first time I'd ever made candied yams. They turned out fantastic! I also added cinnamon after the butter/sugar combo was in place. And, I added the marshmallows at the last 5 minutes in the oven. This was fantastic! Everyone got seconds. :-)

Yum-Yum Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
A 5 star PLUS recipe!! My mother-in-law made this tonight and I was begging her for the recipe.. low and behold, it came from here- my favorite site!! ;-) I have always been famous for my cream corn (also from this site), but this Thanksgiving we will definitely be having "yum yum" corn... it's probably one of the best we've ever had (on par with Rudy's Texas BBQ cream corn). Thanks for the DIVINE recipe!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
The first pumpkin pie I've ever made... we've always settled for bakery-bought. I will NO MORE! This truly is the "perfect" pumpkin pie. No frills... nothing fancy. Just the perfect slice of that pumpkin pie you remember having as a child. Perfect!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
We had this last night and my husband is still spontaneously commenting on how absolutely amazing these ribs were! He is SUCH a huge meat eater and his family makes the "best ribs", so these had very big expectations to live up to- and they surpassed them! :-) The fact that the meat literally falls off the bone is best part... and, as others did, I used 2 cups BBQ sauce and 1 cup ketchup, and seasoned the ribs with fajita seasoning (I didn't have salt in the house, but the fajita seasoning has salt in it). Thanks for the great and super easy recipe!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
Was a little skeptical about this recipe b/c it seemed so simple- but both my husband and I were totally impressed! I used ground turkey and added a little bit of vinegar + cayenne pepper (as mentioned by a previous reviewer) to tone down the sweetness... it was an awesome, quick weeknight meal! Thanks.

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
I am from Texas and have long dreamt of finding good bar-b-q in Miami, Fl (which is difficult to come by!)... well, I have to look no more for mighty good brisket!! I can make it at home now! This was phenomenal! I doctored it up (made it a tad bit sweeter w/ some brown sugar at the end), but made it exactly as written otherwise. My husband was in shock at how good this was! We served on buns w/ chopped onions and pickles and some corn-on-the-cob on the side. Absolutely wonderful meal to come home to! Thanks so much!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
This was pretty good- my husband loved it, so that's a plus! I used fat free half-and-half and it still turned out very good (used cornstarch to thicken it up a bit). Thought it was a little bland at the end- so added some garlic salt, and it was perfect. Very spicy!

Michelle's Coconut Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
This is a 5-star plus recipe, as long as you are one to read all the reviews. And, I mean ALL! I essentially added almost every, single possible addition mentioned in the reviewer's notes and was SOOOOO super impressed! To simplify what I added: 1)carrots, potatoes, and frozen peas, 2) few scrapes fresh ginger, 3) 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper, 4) four cloves garlic crushed, 5) four tblspns yellow curry, 6) Fresh basil, 7) 1 tspn garam masala, 8) squeeze of lemon, and 9) 2 tsp brown sugar. Truly, it was sensational; served with rice and snap peas! Thanks, to the author and all reviewers!

Buffalo Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This was very good with the suggestions of other reviewers- primarily the addition of Frank's Buffalo Hot Sauce over the fingers after baking. I will definitely try getting a hold of those Panko breadcrumbs, as suggested by another reviewer, 'cause ours came out kinda soggy (but still tasty w/ the hot sauce over it + blue cheese dressing for dipping). Will definitely try making "Buffalo Chicken sandwiches" next time, too!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
Soooo easy, Soooo tasty! My husband absolutely loved this and wants me to make it for his family next time we visit them! This is definitely a good, quick, different and soooo tasty family meal. Pairs great with a cold chardonnay, too! BTW- I used 1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream and 1/3 cup mayo, put some lemon pepper + minced garlic into the topping, and broiled at the end with some mozarella cheese on top (as mentioned by a previous reviewer). Yummmy!

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Definitely better than any store bought frosting! Although, I must admit, I did spread it over a boxed "Dark Chocolate" cake I made - Delicious!! I also added the 1 Tblspn of cornstarch to the evaporated milk, to thicken things up.
