Spicy Three Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2013
Subbed peanut butter for tahini as someone else suggested, and followed the recipe otherwise. Yuck. We eat store bought hummus all the time, but this is not good. My daughter said it tasted like super hot peanut butter paste. There seems to be way too much cayenne in this - it's completely overpowering. I would also recommend using a food processor - my stand mixer (Kitchenaid) with wire whisk just didn't get it very smooth at all, even after mixing and scraping for a very long time.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
I know it sounds too easy, but this is delicious. After cooking, I tear the meat into small chunks, then thicken the gravy with a little cornstarch and water. Return the meat to the pan and mix it into the gravy and serve with homemade mashed potatoes. This is a FAVORITE with my 4 kids and hubby.

Cinnamon Spice Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
A tasty cookie! My kids weren't crazy about it, but my coworkers loved them. Maybe a cookie that's more for adult tastes. Great with a cup of coffee!

Ultimate Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
Made this with 10 eggs, no butter, 8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar and only 8 oz. light sour cream. Added salt, garlic powder, and a little crushed red pepper flakes and baked for 1 hour. Makes a very thick casserole! I cut it into about 12 pieces. My daughter and I (we're the only breakfast casserole people in our house) loved it.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
OK. I thought it was a little greasy and pretty spicy. I've never had chili rellenos in a restaurant so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Won't make again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
This soup is so delicious! I didn't make it in the slow cooker, and I used 15 oz. of tomato sauce and added 1 1/2 cans of water along with all of the other ingredients to make it more soupy. I used a can of light beer, and the flavor was awesome! It didn't need any additional seasonings as it had just the right amount of spice. My kids even liked it! My 13-yr old son said that I should definitely make it again.

This was just OK. My kids thought it was Hamburger Helper.

Blueberry Dump Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
I made this with lots of fresh blueberries (probably more than 4 cups, more like 6) and it was so delicious. We had it at a graduation party in June and it was a delicious summer treat! I'll definitely make this one again. The cinnamon makes it delicious.

Goulash Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
Instead of stewed tomatoes I used 1 can diced tomatoes with green chiles and 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz. each) and about 1/2 can of water. I also added a tiny bit of crushed red pepper flakes to add a little heat. It was delicious! My 4 kids even ate it. They were a little put off by the name "goulash" though!

Hot Beef Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
I used scallions (green onions) and a red bell pepper instead of green to look a little more festive. I spread it into a pretty red pie plate and topped it with paprika before baking. It was delicious and everyone loved it. This tastes great on rye crackers.

Cranberry Cream Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
These were pretty good, but a little bland. I would maybe add some cinnamon to the crust/streusel topping. Also, after sitting out for a while they became a little wet and soggy. Keeping them chilled is a must.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2005
Really delicious and easy to make. DON'T use that much milk in the frosting! Just add as much as you need to get a spreading consistency. I like this recipe because it uses ingredients you have on hand and you don't have to melt any chocolate!
