I love to spend time with my family. I have a wonderful husband and two daughters. We eat at home every night except for the occasional pizza/take out. My four year old daughter enjoys adding things for me and stirring with Mom's big spoon. I love to come here to look for new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake goodies. I'm always making cookies or brownies. I can make really good lasagna (from a recipe off here!). We have discovered a great recipe for French Dip's also. I have to say that it is our Favorite new dinner. I really like to make a good homemade pot of soup on rainy (or snowy) days.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother and Mom are the best cooks I know. We come from a family of cooks. I remember going to Grandma's and she would have a full meal from salad to dessert all from scratch. As she gets older, I miss our big meals she used to cook. My Mother and I are starting new traditions. I actually hosted Thanksgiving last year.
My cooking triumphs
I had a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner for 12 people. It was great. My Grandma showed me how to make her stuffing, I will make it from now on.
I have learned how to make gravy, finally. I could never get it thick enough!!
My cooking tragedies
One time I made some zuchinni bread and forgot to add the sugar. It was awful. When we had our first house, I made scalloped potatoes and set the timer on the oven because I was going to work. The oven never started at all!! Oh yes, those Pampered Chef oven mitts, they do start on fire.
