Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
i fully enjoyed this meal, much more than i have other recipes i've tried from this site. i added brocolli and red peppers underneath the chicken, hidden valley spicy ranch dressing instead of regular, and added colby/pepper jack along with mozzarella. i ate it over white rice. it's something i'd def eat again!

Curried Coconut Chicken

i love this recipe. i've made this dish several times. i add mushrooms to it and leave out the tomato sauce.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
not too impressed, in fact i was kinda disappointed. but then, i'm not much of a mustard fan. but i figured because it got such great reviews i'd like it anyway. next time i'd make it with BBQ sauce. my husband liked it, though. i read a review where they had spinach noodles as a side. terrible. didn't not go with the chicken very well at all. i'd go with mashed potatoes instead.

Ham Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
i'm giving it this many stars ONLY because of the alterations i made. like other said, i cooked the onions and brocolli a bit before putting it in the cresent roll dough. instead of 2 tablespoons of mustard i put 1 tablespoon and 1/2 cup sour cream. the filling turned out moist and creamy and delicious! and i brushed a little butter on the top of the cresent dough(which was reduced fat) before putting it in the oven. i LOVED how it turned out and would definitely make it my way again.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
very tasty! a bit too sweet but that's nothing that drinking a glass of milk can't fix! i added about a 1/4 cup of shredded coconut with the topping and it was delicious. i didn't have heavy cream on me so i used 1 tablespoon whole milk and 1 tablespoon vanilla non-dairy creamer and it still turned out great.

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
i made this for thankgiving and i liked it but i think there was too much sour cream. it's practically all i could taste. next time i think i'll make it with only a 1/2 cup.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
nice rolls but here's a warning- don't put them in the oven on the "warm" setting and leave them 45 mins! the "warm" setting on my oven is just too warm for that long! i should've taken them out after 20 mins. they overproofed and went flat.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
very tasty! a little bit too salty but my husband liked them that way. i think next time i'd do what some other ladies suggested and used garlic powder instead of garlic salt.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
the recipe was great! i used the amount of sugar is called for, 2/3 c., and i didn't think it was too sweet at all! however, i wanted to make cupcakes instead of using a square or circle pan. for one thing, $400 was too hot. and 20-25 minutes was WAY too long. of course my oven might run hotter than it should. i burned a batch before i found that 375 or 350 for 11-12 mins was just right.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2006
first of all there's a LOT of meat in this recipe compared to the beans! my husband liked that about the chili but i wanted them more even so i used more beans than the recipe called for and it STILL seemed like there was too much beef! plus, i think next time i will follow the recipe exactly and add some diced tomatos. i substitued stewed tomatos instead of the tomato juice, like some people suggested and it turned out too thick. i'd like some sauce with my meat and beans, thank you.

Tuna Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
i added some an extra can of tuna. this is definitely a recipe to play with until you get it just the way you want it. it was pretty tasty and i loved how you didn't need a can of soup. my only criticism is that baking it is COMPLETELY unnecessary unless you want melted cheese or breadcrumbs on the top.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
not too bad but i think next time i'll definitely take it out of the oven periodically and drain it and i think i'll add the glaze after only it's half-done. other than that it's pretty good. i'm not a huge onion fan so i think i'll substitute dried minced onions or onion powder or onion soup mix instead of real onion next time. it was a bit too firm so maybe i'll also try one less egg or more crackers too. the ginger gave it great flavor, i thought.

Southwestern Grilled Chicken with Lime Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
i wasn't all that impressed with the rub, it was ok but not very exciting. the butter was delicious though! i really liked the serrano pepper in it. i cooked the (boneless) chicken in the stove set on broil for about 15 mins. i had the chicken on the rack from our toaster oven over a pan. my only real complaint was that the pan wasn't big enough for all 4 pieces of chicken i cooked and i had to throw in the last one after the first 3 were done and by that tiem the dripping were starting to burn. so next time i'll either get a bigger pan or do it in an actual grill

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
pretty good but next time i think i'll combine the sour cream, cheese, and soup separately, and throw in a cup of milk just to make it creamier. also, i'm not sure the grated cheese is necessary at all. next time i think i'll put more chedder cheese on the top.
