Blueberry Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
I made this recipe with my 9 year old son. It was very easy and turned out well. Some of the lemon zest clumped together, causing quite a strong lemon taste in certain bites. Suggestion: Mix really well before adding blueberries.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
This pie turned out really well. It was so easy that I made it with my 7 year old son. It did brown very fast being on the bottom rack and I removed it 10 minutes early.

Asian Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
My husband and kids thought this was a very good recipe. I did add an additional 1/2 cup of dry bread crumbs. I made sure that the onion and celery were finely chopped. I also took the other reader's advice and used 1/2 cup ketchup and 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce for the glase on top. It turned out moist and it held together well.

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
I thought it was pretty good. I did add 12oz package of noodles instead of 10. I also used tomatoes with green chilies and added garlic and crushed red pepper to the meat for some extra spice. I probably would mix the sour cream mixture with the noodles instead of layering it. I would also cover while baking since some of the top noodles were a bit crunchy. Overall, I will make again.

Honey Mustard Beer Brats

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2005
The closest thing I could find was honey bbq sauce, so I just added some mustard. I thought they tasted good. I was also out of charcoal, so I cooked in the slow cooker and then finished in the broiler. It was a nice change from our normal brats. I did have to add more beer to cover the brats.

My husband and I thought this recipe was alright. My kids didn't care for it. They said they would rather have tacos.

My family thought this was a good recipe. I added potatoes and baby carrot about six hours before serving.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
Very good muffins. I had just under 1 cup of blueberries left - They would be even better with more. My kids said they were a "keeper". Like other reviewers, I had plenty of leftover topping. I do think I will add some vanilla and cinnamon to the mixture next time.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
I loved the meatballs. They were very quick and easy. The sauce was just alright - a little plain and a bit salty. I think next time I will try making the meatballs with our favorite store bought sauce. Overall, a good recipe.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
I did not have fresh garlic in the house so I used refridgerated minced garlic. I thought it was a good recipe, although it did have a strong vinegar taste. I served with brown rice.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2005
I think that I did not let them rise long enough before baking. They turned out kinda gooey instead of fluffy. I think I would also decrease the sugar/cinnamon mixture just a little. The frosting was excellent. I will have to try again - Maybe next time they will turn out better.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2005
This was a nice change from our normal chicken recipes. Instead of frying the chicken in vegetable oil, I used the same pan that I fried the bacon in and left some of the bacon grease. It really added a good flavor. I also add green onion to the top. I served with flavored noodles.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2005
My family said this was excellent. I did double the cornstarch since I like a thicker sauce. I served warm with vanilla icecream - Perfect!!!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2005
These were so good. I followed other reviewers advice and only added half a can of tomato soup. I also added 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper for some extra spice. I put in a 9x13 pan and baked at 350 until cheese was melted.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2005
I left the house and forgot to throw it in the crock pot, so I used my pressure cooker when I got home. Cooked the roast for 90 minutes and then added red potatoes and baby carrots and cooked for another 15 to 20 mins. I thicken the juices with cornstarch for a nice gravy. It turned out well. I'm going to try again, only using the crock pot this time.

Fancy Sammich

This was not good at all! The juices from the pork made the pastry soggy. Too much lemon flavor in the meat.

Broccoli Beef II

This cut of meat was not very tender. I thought the dish was a little blah and boring. I didn't find the sauce "rich" at all. Will not make again.

Sour Cream Refrigerator Mashed Potatoes

Make sure you add lot of salt to the potatoes while boiling. I thought they were very good. I think next time I'll add chedder cheese and bacon bits to the top.
