Frosted Zucchini Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
These are SO good! I was searching for a recipe to use some of the massive amounts of zucchini we have! And was looking for something other than bread. I admit I was skeptical when I saw zucchini cookies. But these are delicious! I left out the cloves b/c I didn't have any, and did split 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugar, had no raisins, and used pecans instead of walnuts. I'll definitely be making these again. The icing is a must too!

Sausage Pasta

Easy and delicious! I buy the sweet turkey sausage and remove the casing before cooking. I also leave out the garlic as my family is not a fan, and it still tastes amazing!

Vegetarian Cottage Cheese Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I REALLY enjoyed these! As did my husband. I was leary b/c I'm not a fan of cottage cheese, but you couldnt even tell! I only used 1/2 of the onion soup mix, and I'm glad I did, b/c the flavor was plenty strong enough. I followed another reviewer and baked for 10 minutes, added the mushroom soup and baked for another 20. It probably could have stayed in a little longer, but it was still good. They were very crumbly before being cooked. But this wasnt a big deal as I just sprinkled the breadcrumbs on both sides and plopped it into the pan. We will definitely make these again!!!

Buttery Spritz Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
I didn't have any almost extract, so I used all vanilla. While the consistency of the dough was nice, the flavor was bland, and like others have said, a little floury. I won't be making these again.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
I have to admit I almost chose another recipe but I'm so glad I didnt! These are great! I doubled the recipe for a 9x13 pan. There didnt seem like there would be enough batter but it spread just fine. I sprinkled about a cup of semi-sweet chips on top, and next time I'll try and mix some into the batter also. Definitely a keeper!

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
I'm sorry but I really was not a fan of these at all. I used more lemon juice as others recommended, but still the filling didn't seem to have much flavor at all. My husband ate a few of these, but I ended up throwing the whole plate away.

Pumpkin Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
I just got back from my Easter dinner and everyone just loved this! Including me! The only thing I changed was that I didnt use the cloves or allspice, only b/c i didnt have any, so i just added 2tsp of cinn. and 1.5tsp of nutmeg. It was so moist and was a good simple dessert with just some powdered sugar on top. Although my dad said it could use some cool whip. I will most definitely be making this again and again!

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
If I could give this a 10 I would! I made two pies at the same time, and both were gone in a matter of a few days! I omitted the allspice and lemon zest b/c I just didn't have it. I brushed egg white on the bottom of the piecrust, and instead of freezing, baked for about 5 minutes. Followed the directions in the recipe for the filling and the topping. EXCELLENT! Better than my regular apple pie!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
I was so afraid of making cake from scratch, I've tried before and it ended up with the cake in the trash. I paired it with "fluffy peanut butter frosting" from this site, and my husband immediately turned to me and said i better get started on the next one b/c this one would be gone in no time! It wasn't overly chocolatey, and paired with the pb frosting it was perfect! Oh! and soooo easy!

Excellent! I doubled this recipe for a 9x13 pan, and mixed the sugar/cinnamon mixture in with the apples! There wasn't any left after the 6 of us got at it!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
so delicious! Made this for my dad's birthday, and everyone loved it! At first we thought we may have to double the recipe to feed 6 of us, but the sauce was so thick and filling that we fed everyone w/out having to double it. We did omit the mushrooms and tomatoes, and added brocoli instead. Definitely try this one!!!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2006
I didn't think this was that hard to make at all! I had a big container of mushrooms, so I cut those up and that was it. It definitely wasn't as much as the recipe called for, but I thought it was just enough. This was very creamy, and my husband loved it. My only complaint is that I thought there was too much butter. At times all I could taste was the butter, especially the next day when I heated some of it up. I will definitely make again, but maybe add another vegetable and reduce the butter.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
This recipe is definitely worth making!!! Granted there are changes, but most recipes on this website have some changes made to them. When I made these I added 3/4 cup of milk, 2 eggs, and 2 cups of frozen blueberries(picked from the garden last year), which I thawed and added a touch of flour to. I also cut the topping in half, which was plenty. I cooked this in a 9" springform pan, and it was gone within 24 hours! My husband and I were fighting over it! Can't wait to make again!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
Amazing! I decided to try this recipe to give out to my family and friends for christmas, and I'm so glad I did! I followed the recipe exactly except for the cloves, which I just didnt have. After the first batch came out a little spikey, I sprayed some pam on my hands and rolled them into balls, then flattened with a glass and they came out picture perfect. They are delicious plain, or if you want it a bit sweeter the icing is good as well. Even a cream cheese frosting would compliment thses nicely. Regardless, you have to try these!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2005
Excellent! I followed this recipe exactly, only I used blueberries that we had picked and frozen almost a year ago! I rinsed them, dried them, and added a little bit of sugar to them. I also made 12 smaller cupcake sized muffins. I had just enough batter and waaay too much topping. But that's fine. I cooked them for 20 minutes and they were perfect. The topping is yummy and the muffin itself is so moist and delicious. Would be good even w/out the topping! Definitely a must try!

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This was amazing! I used pork mainly just b/c I had it in the freezer. I put in one big bottle of BBQ sauce and let it cook for 8 hrs, then took it out, shredded it and put it back in with a little bit more sauce. I also strained the sauce that was left in the crockpot with a slotted spoon. I cooked it for maybe a half hour, and couldnt wait any longer! It smelled so good allll day. My husband and I both loved it. It made great leftovers as well.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2005
I cooked this recipe when my mom came to dinner one night, she and my husband loved it! She asked for the recipe, and has since passed it on to my sister. Everyone who tries it loves it! My sister has also suggested adding a little bit of the topping into the meat mixture, however, I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
