About this Cook
When I was younger I swore I'd never need to know how to cook and had no interest in learning from my mom and grandmother. Once I got married though, I decided that for my new husband and I to survive one of us was going to have to start cooking...which brings me to now! My husband is my favorite guinea pig to test new recipes on and what is deemed unedible gets fed to my favorite four-legged garbage disposal!
My favorite things to cook
Growing up in the South and then moving 700 miles away from the "home cookin'" made me want to learn how to cook familiar comfort foods. Living in Florida for three years, I got to do a lot of cooking with fresh seafood which I absolutely love.

Easy Mushroom Rice
After baking for an hour the rice was still kind of crunchy. I think I'll add a little more liquid next time and bake it a little longer...other than that it was pretty good.

Garlic Creamed Chicken
My husband and I thought that the sour cream and cream cheese were way too strong and overpowered the taste of the chicken. The chicken was also very tough after baking for an hour...maybe less time in the oven and modifications to the amount of sour cream and cream cheese would make it taste better.
