About this Cook
I just graduated college and now am living with my boyfriend. This has taught me lots of new things about cooking! I really love to cook for him, because he loves to eat! I just have to find the time and the money to put into new things. My grandmother has taught me how to cook ever since I was little...anything that I have learned, I have learned from her and my mother!
My favorite things to cook
Mexican food, grilled fish, vegetable dishes, new things. I love to take dishes that otherwise seem very unhealthy, and make them into new dishes that are good for you...and that people who don't care about healthy foods, will still enjoy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Green bean casserole! My family always make a big deal out of eating, but it is never healthy eating. I have learned to use what they have taught me and make it into healthier versions.
My cooking triumphs
Hmm....there have been a few. I just cooked an Eggplant Parmigiana Carbonata that was amazing! I knew I was a good cook when I first tasted it.
My cooking tragedies
Catching a wok on fire while trying to make stir fry in my college dorm kitchen...the firemen came and everything. :(

New York Cheesecake I
I made this last night and followed the other reviews, and used half the sour cream. It turned out awful! I don't know if it was me, or the recipe but it just didn't taste right. I think perhaps the almond was too strong. The filling just wasn't the right consistency.

Eggplant Parmigiana Caponata
I made this dish last night for Valentines Day and it was amazing! I followed all the reviews and didn't really measure my oil, just used enough to saute the veggies. It was the perfect amount! Everything about this dish was great, I even made extra sauce to use with chicken parmigiana...(my boyfriend wanted both chicken and eggplant). All I had to do was add s bit of vodka and heavy cream to the sauce, and a bit of tomato paste and it was amazing with the chicken. I would definitely recommend this recipe!
