Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
Soup tasted great, but my goof up was that my cheddar cheese clumped up into a big mess! Not the recipe's fault at all. I think maybe my heat was a little too high. We ate what we could. I'll try it again when I get over my anguish at loosing an expensive chunk on cheddar.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
Perfect! Just the recipe I was looking for. I used organic broth and then reduced it with the wine and onions and made my "gravy" from that. Super good! I also cooked my beef down with the crock pot because I had to work today and it was just easier. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Paella

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2014
Outstanding!! I was very impressed with this recipe. I am from Central Florida and we have a wonderful restaurant called The Columbia that specializes in Spanish cuisine. This recipe was like something right off their menu. Wonderful combination of flavors! I will make this again and again!

Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2014
Really good! I love Indian food and I needed a new recipe for my bumper crop of okra. This was perfect. I will definitely make this again. I did toss the okra in vinegar first to cut the slime.

Had an abundance of cucumbers in the garden and decided to make some pickles. I didn't have any pickling spice made up and this recipe was just the ticket!! Thanks for posting. Great recipe!

Pesto

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
Just divine! I tweaked mine just a little to my taste. Reduced garlic cloves to 3. Used 1/2 cup of freshly grated high-end parmesan. I like Spanish olive oil because is has a strong taste. Left out the parsley. I think next time I will try toasting the pine nuts. I used the pesto over some curly pasta and I could have eaten the entire pot it was SO good!!

Chicago-Style Hot Dog

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
I love Chicago dogs! The poppyseed bun is really good but hard-to-find. I can find sport peppers at a place called World Market. To me, the sport peppers and the celery salt is what makes the Chicago dog great.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2014
Fantastic!! I, as suggested, drained my zucchini and added a few more spices (dill, cardamom, black pepper, garlic, and dry mustard). I fried mine in oil. They turned out perfect. I was surprised at well they held together and the taste was really wonderful. I just wish I had made more. Great recipe!

Indian Tandoori Chicken

Reviewed: May 15, 2014
I made this tonight and did follow the recipe. I expected the spices to "pop" a little more. It didn't have a nearly as much flavor as I was expecting. I marinated mine for over 24 hrs and grilled it on the grill, and it was good, just not outstanding. If I were to make it again, I would add more spice.

Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
Wonderful~went perfect with my General Tso's Chicken. I did add a little sesame oil to replace some of the olive oil and reduced the soy sauce just a bit to my taste. I also used cashews instead of almonds because that is what I had on hand. The napa cabbage was really good!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Super good! I added some bread crumbs on top just for the crunch. I also used portabella mushrooms because I love their meaty flavor. I will use this recipe again for sure!!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
Cream cheesy goodness! I made this to go on a carrot cake and it is PERFECTION. I made the recipe just as it was written. I don't like my icing mind-numbingly sweet, so this is ultimate recipe for me. Love it!

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
Fabulous! I had an old "sweet and sour sauce" recipe, but this one is better. I love the ease of this recipe. As with all Asian food, it's mostly prep that takes up your time. The pork fried up beautifully. I buy organic meat, so I used cut-up pork chops. I also added some sweet pickles that I had made to the sauce. Just divine!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
Best scones I have ever had the supreme pleasure of eating! I have made this recipe twice now: first time I did cranberry/orange with cinnamon and the second time I made lemon/poppy seed. Both topped with a confection sugar icing and both excellent. My husband begs me to make these for him on a regular basis now.

Whole Egg Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
Fantastic recipe! Thanks so much for posting it. I am allergic to preservatives in food, so I have to make most everything I cook. I will use this recipe from now on. I only have a blender so I used that. It worked good, but I think a food processor would be easier. I plan to get one soon. Also, used the suggestion of the plastic cup with a tiny hole poked in the bottom to drizzle the oil. Worked like a charm. Was only able to use 1-1/2 cups of oil because may got so thick. :)
