Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
This is very good but there is too much salt in the recipe. I made this for 4 and the recipe called for 2 tsp kosher salt. I only used 1 tsp and it was still salty. But other than that, everyone loved it. Will definitely make again. Just with less salt. I also used yellow tail tuna steaks.

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I made this with a London Broil and loved it. I don't normally care for bleu cheese but the blue cheese butter was wonderful. I will definitely make again. I didn't have any chives so I used a little grated onion.

Accidental Grilled Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This is so good and so easy. My family loved it. I used white onions and cremini mushrooms because that is what I had. I don't see how this could be better. The marinade is so good and simple I will use it for grilling.

Apple Nut Cake with Rum Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Oh My Goodness this is so good. I didn't have any rum flavoring or butter flavoring so I used 1/2 c real butter and 1/2 cup margarine and 2+ tsp real rum for sauce. This sauce is really good over vanilla ice cream too. I used Fuji Apples and pecans. YUMMO. It did take another 10 minutes to cook and I used a Pyrex dish so I was surprised it took longer.

Aunt Ro's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
I made these for a BBQ and everyone there raved. I had to give the recipe to all there. I didn't have any butter beans so I used kidney beans. Can't see any difference. Will definitely make again.

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
Really good, I didn't have egg noodles so I used elbow macaroni. It was excellent. Big hit with my family. Since I didn't have a roast chicken for the soup base I used 2 chicken breasts and cut them up, then browned with the onion, celery and carrots. Next time I will cook the chicken longer so it falls apart.

Fresh Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This is a very good soft ginger cookie. I did add ground ginger to the sugar I rolled them in and next time I will try adding chopped candied ginger. I love ginger and these are addicting. Everyone who has tasted them loves them.

Mixed Seafood Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
Oh Yum! This is so good. I added more asparagus, shrimp and mushrooms. I also followed advice and added 1Tbsp of Peanut butter. I didn't have curry paste so I added a lot of curry powder. I will go find the paste but it was really good even with the curry powder. Everyone loved it. I served it over a mix of brown and wild rice. Thanks for sharing.

Sesame Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
I made this last night and it is definitely easy. BUT even though I cut the soy sauce by 1/3 it was still too salty. I did add broccoli, red peppers and green onions and served over brown rice. Except for the saltiness it was good. If I make it again I will NOT marinate the shrimp and will add some white wine and ginger to the marinade to make it less salty and have a kick.

Liz's Astounding Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
These are good but not the best. They have too many chips in them and not enough salt. I increased the recipe to 72 servings. I think if I were to make them again I would increase the salt to 1 tsp instead of 3/4 tsp and I would only use 2 1/2 cups of chips instead of 3 1/2 cups. I also added nuts as my family thinks it isn't a good cookie if it doesn't have nuts.

Excellent base. I used 2 chicken breasts and cut them up. I cooked them with the onion etc. Then added the broth and water.

Curried Microwaved Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
This is really good. I did as others suggested and did it on the stove top. I think I will try it in the microwave after browning the onion and chicken. I used evaporated milk and 1% milk as I didn't have any cream. Was still rich and yummy. I suggest rice as the gravy is great. I think next time I will put more chicken parts in it. Definite keeper!

Cauliflower Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
this is really good. I didn't have any asparagus so I used green beans. I used Italian bread crumbs and Emeril's seasoning. My family loved it. We did have to add salt at the table. I will definitely make this again.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
This is so easy and so good. I added a little chicken broth to the pan and then followed the recipe exactly. Even my bro-in-law who isn't fond of chicken liked it. Everyone else raved and asked for it again. I had a 5 lb chicken so I baked it 1 hour and about 40 minutes until it was done then basted and covered and let stand 30 minutes. YUM

Hamburger Supper

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
I was disappointed in this. I followed the recipe except I didn't have a packet of gravy mix. I used a jar of gravy and eliminated the water. When done, I tasted it and added salt and some worchestershire sauce. This made it edible. I won't be making this again.

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Outstanding, I did add 1/2 an onion and 1 tsp of minced garlic when I sauteed the carrots. I also doubled the liquids and cut the basil to 1 tsp. My son thanked me for making this. So easy and so good. Thanks for the recipe.

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
Not my favorite. I did as suggested and seasoned my bread crumbs. I have another coating I prefer as this one you have to really watch, the bread crumbs burn easily.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
I really like it and was thrilled to find a good recipe so I don't have to buy it. I don't use it often enough to keep on hand. Now I can just make it as I need it. Thanks for sharing.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
This is a very good chocolate chip cookie. I guess I was looking for something with more oatmeal. But everyone loves the "new" chocolate chip cookie. The peanut butter isn't overpowering, a nice balance.

Grilled Citrus Tuna

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
I found this to be tasteless even after letting sit for an hour. My beautiful tuna steaks were very dry. No one ate more than 1/2 their steaks. I made Barbie's Tuna Salad out of the leftovers. That was good!
