Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I had to change the recipe a little for my taste. I added a can of tomato paste to add more body to the sauce & more flavor. I did not have scallops, so I doubled the amount of shrimp. & I added just a pinch of nutmeg & garlic powder to add even more flavor. After these changes the recipe was great, my DH & I both loved it. I can't imagine eating it as the recipe was originally written, it seems so bland that way & without substance.

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

I doubled the recipe because it doesn't make enough for a big batch. I took these cookies on a campout with a bunch of people & they all raved about how good they were. The only problem was they went way too fast!

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

I had to give the recipe 4 stars instead of 5 because of the changes I made. I used refrigerated pie crust instead of scratch & it worked great. I used frozen veggie mix along with frozen O'Brien potatoes & it was so easy this way. I pre-cooked several chicken breasts & cut up in chunks to add to the other ingredients. Everybody loved this recipe & said it was much, much better than the frozen things you get in the store. I will definitely be making this again!

Chocolate Zucchini Bars

I added 2 more tablespoons of chocolate, but DH still complained it wasn't chocolaty enough, so next time will add more. This is not a bar, it's a cake. I found it to be very moist & with the chocolate buttercream frosting on top, very rich. Due to the complaint about the chocolate I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5, but I thought it was very good. A great way to sneak in veggies without anyone knowing!

Lover's Loaf

This recipe was awesome, my family all agreed that this was the best meatloaf I had ever made! It took a little longer than the usual meatloaf, but so worth it. I made some minor changes to the original recipe. I added a chopped onion to the meat mixture, used italian style bread crumbs, added some chopped garlic & put some of the grated parmesan on the top before putting it in the oven. I didn't have the prosciutto, so I left it out, but it was great without it.

Asian Spinach Salad

This salad was just OK. I felt like it really needed something else for more flavor & more ingredients. I was in a hurry, so I didn't have time to experiment, maybe next time if I make it again. I did add snow peas chopped up in bite sized pieces to add a little something, but it still needed more.

Ziti with Italian Sausage

3-Cheese Mostaccioli Bolognese

This recipe just didn't live up to it's rating. I added some chopped onion to the skillet when cooking the meat & garlic & added a little Italian spice mix, but other than that made it as written. There was just something missing in this recipe, but I couldn't figure out what it needed. We probably won't have this one again.

My Best Clam Chowder

This was the best Clam Chowder I've ever made. I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 however because I changed it a little. I left out the carrots because I don't like carrots in my chowder & I added extra red wine vinegar & some Old Bay seasoning. This gave it the extra flavor it needed. Other than those things it's a great recipe & I will be making it again, hubby loved it too.

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

This is a very good & easy recipe. You can change it to your tastes by adding or subtracting ingredients, very versatile. I added a can of chopped tomatoes this time & it made a good recipe even better. I may experiment even more next time. Thanks for the great recipe!

Festival-Style Grilled Italian Sausage Sandwiches

This recipe was great! I split the sausages & grilled them on my indoor grill. I cooked the onions & green peppers in a skillet, until carmelized. I then put the grilled sausage on top of a wheat hoagie bun split, topped the sausage with the peppers & onions & put some spicy brown mustard on top of that. It was delish!

Shrimp Scampi II

This recipe as written was very bland, it was just missing something I couldn't pinpoint. I had to add more worcestershire sauce, some red pepper flakes, & parmesan cheese to add some flavor to it. Sorry, we just didn't like this one that well.

Fiesta Chicken Casserole

This was a good recipe & easy to make. I used some fajita chicken strips in addition to 1 can of chicken instead of 2 cans. This just seemed to add some more substance to it. Otherwise we liked the flavor & it went over well with the hubby.

Cola Pork Chops

This recipe was just O.K. You could really taste the ketchup in this & it didn't do all that much for the recipe. I added chopped onions on top & this did add some better flavor. The chops did however turn out very tender.

Blackberry Spinach Salad

This was a very delicious salad that my husband & I enjoyed. I didn't have the edible flowers, but it didn't need them. You can use about any dressing you want with this salad. I liked raspberry viniagrette with it, but my husband liked blue cheese.

Gourmet White Pizza

What a great option for pizza, we loved it! I did reduce the garlic a little & added mozarella cheese on top. We didn't mind eating this pizza with a fork, it was well worth it.
