Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
Wonderful! I used 1 large cookie sheet and divided the dough into 4 loaves. I misted the loaves every 5 minutes because it's so much fun, and they were done within 25 minutes. 3 of the 4 loaves fed a dinner party of 8. Another reviewer had mentioned they had trouble getting their bread to rise, I did not, but I did notice that 1pkg of yeast doesn't measure 1 tablespoon, so perhaps they were depending on the labeling of the package and not actually measuring their yeast. I used the kitchenaid mixer, used it to do all the kneading so this was a very easy recipe.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
The sauce was excellent. I sprinkled paprika on the chicken and then coated it with flour and fried it in oil in a cast iron skillet until nicely browned on both sides. I then transfered them into a pan with 1/2 the recommended butter and proceded with the recipe. Strictly a personal preference but I think frying it in the oil allowed a crisper crust.

Wonderful! Crisp crust. I used the doughhook on my mixer and it required no kneading.

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2005
This was a good recipe, next time I think I will use plain salt instead of the seasoning salt, as that seemed to come through strongly. I only used half the amount of mayo and the full amount of buttermilk for a salad dressing. My family liked it.

Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
This was a good recipe. I mixed the cracker crumbs in with the flour as others had suggested. Instead of butter I used margarine so it wouldn't smoke and burn. The cracker flavor seemed to come through strongly and sometimes I felt like I could've just sliced a tomato and put it on top of a cracker instead of making this. While it was good and we ate it, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for.

Baby Loin Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
This recipe was fun to make. The basting sauce could easily have been cut in half. My family didn't like this as the spices were too hot and you couldn't taste the rib meat due to the overpowering pepper spices. But if you like things spicy you would love this.

Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
These were great! I have tried many times to make rolls and always they come out yeasty tasting or hard, but these were perfect. I let them rise about 1 hr more than the recipe called for for each rising so they would be truly doubled.
