Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Great cherry pie! My dad requested a cherry ie for his birthday dessert and he raved on this pie as well as the rest of us. YUM!

Mom's Best Spaghetti Sauce

I gave this recipe 5 Stars based on the following from a previous review from Debra. I made a big batch and froze 1/2 of it. I also took the advise of another and omitted the white sugar and added brown sugar instead. Delicious! Per Debrah, "I deleted the mushrooms, parmesan cheese, and the baking soda. I add a little more garlic then this recipe calls for and NO water. I also add oregano to mine. When cooking it is important to cook the onions and garlic in some olive oil first. This brings out the flavor. I also add the fresh parsley basil and oregano (chopped), and salt and pepper to that first and cook a few minutes. Then I add the whole tomatoes and the juice in the can, very important to take your hands to them and crush them a little. I let that come to a boil first before adding the sauce. After adding the sauce, I simmer and let it cook for 3 or 4 hours, stirring occasionally with the lid partially on. I also add additional seasoning as I taste and go along. What really turns the sauce unbelievably awesome is that I make meatballs seperately in a frying pan and once they are cooked I add them to the sauce during the last hour. WOW! gives the sauce such an awesome flavor."

Anniversary Chicken I

I marinated the chicken in teriyaki sauce overnight then before putting it in the oven I put a teriyaki glaze over the chicken. It turned out with a great combination of flavors. I did not use the bacon because we did not have any, and it still came out wonderful! I also followed others suggestions and added the chese during the last 5-10 minutes of the baking cycle.

Green Bell Peppers stuffed with Tomato Lentil Couscous

The stuffing inside of the bell pepper was the best I have had so far. My whole family loved the stuffing. The bell pepper was really crunchy, which we don't prefer. I will probably add a little bit of water to my meat mixture and cook longer, for probably an hour at 350 degrees next time or follow anothers advise and boil for 4 minutes covered just to soften up a bit. Plus, if it is cooked for an hour, make sure to add the cheese on the last 20 minutes. I did not use a cut-up bell pepper in the mixture and I substituted ground beef for ground turkey. Really good!

Crispy Oven-Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Sausage and Potatoes

I used less oil and papertowl blotted some up, so I this may be why my chicken came out a bit drier than expcted. But they taste of the potatoes mixed with the sausage was GREAT! I will probably do the sausage and potatoes again with maybe steak or a different chicken recipe.

Bacon-Roasted Chicken with Potatoes

I used other's advise and seasoned potatoes in a tablespoon of Italian Dressing (I used Olive Garden's dressing). I didn't have adobo seasoning, so I put some olive oil onto the chicken and used the chives, basil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and ground mustard to season it. I took others suggestions and used chicken breast, layered it in a roasting pan which allowed the juices to drip onto the potatoes. This method seemed to dry out the chicken a little bit, so next time I will probably but the chicken into the pan with the potatoes. The potatoes came out GREAT. I chopped up Idaho potatoes into cubes and it was perfect. Ialso only layered 3 strips of bacon over the chicken. This may be why my dish came out a little dry, but I am not sure. This dish is a keeper and the entire family LOVED it!

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

This recipe was SO good. Be really careful when choosing salsa because the heat on the one I chose was a bit much for my kids, but overall WE LOVED this one. I will for sure be making this again.

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

I really loved this recipe! I cooked with 1 can of chicken broth instead of water and I cooked the ham with the onions and cabbage the entire time so it could release its juices. My daughter loved it and so did my parents.

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

This recipe was not a "got to have" one, but it was a nice variety to use up some meat we had in the freezer that needed to be used up. I followed advice, such as adding a TBSP of minced garlic, 1/2 a can of milk (can is from the cream of mushroom soup), and I put some condenced beef broth and pepper. My husband does not like onions, so I used some dried chopped onions to the mixture and fresh sliced mushrooms. Came out pretty good. This is a great recipe to use up meat that has been in the freezer too long.

Monkey Bread I

I really wanted to give this a 5-star, but it was SO SWEET. I think that I will put 1/2 of the butter/brown sugar topping on it next time. And trust me, I love sweet and this was too much for me.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

I used this recipe because I wanted to use up the rest of the Asiago cheese I made with another recipe on this website. My husband and I liked this recipe, but my kids did not, so that is why I gave it only 4 stars. The entire family preferred the Chicken and Bowtie Pasta with Asiago Cream Sauce recipe a lot more. I think the sun dried tomatoes is not what went well with my kids.
