I just moved into my first apartment in July 2005 with my fiance and son. I've been very interested in health and fitness for years and I started looking up recipes while cleaning up my diet and also in anticipation of doing all the cooking once I moved out of my parents home. I love finding new ways of making food healthier, I am very good at converting recipes into healthy ones. I love to try new recipes and this website is amazing with such a rich source of meals from all over the world. I believe that I am a natural cook and the meals that usually turn out the best for me are the ones I alter or completely make up myself.
My favorite things to cook
Quiches and casseroles, soups, dips, unique salads, Mexican and Italian foods. I also like to bake pies, tarts, and lowfat muffins, cookies and cheesecakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother and mother's stuffing is amazing. It is hands down my favorite recipe for the holidays. I should post it. Also my father is the main cook and his favourite thing to do is to contstanly try something new and make up his own recipes, like I try to do. We also share the same habit of not measuring when we make a recipe so it's hard to reproduce it!
My cooking triumphs
The chili I've listed was really good. I also made a very good feta spinach dip recently out of my head. I am proud that my fiance and my family enjoy the food that I try out on them and think that I am a good cook.
My cooking tragedies
Some of the things I've tried on this website that were rated really high have bombed completely for me. Sour Cream Buiscuits and Cheeseburger Soup II to name a couple.
