Sausage Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
I changed this recipe a bit, but we really liked it and would have liked it even better the real way probably. I had some ground beef that needed to be used so I used that instead of sausage. I added salt, pepper and onion powder to make it more of a dinner flavor. The cornbread I did the same except I left out the oil. I don't know why that would be necessary. It turned out great and my elementary age sons ate it up happily.

Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
Wow, we loved this! We didn't have celery seed, but added a little more salt and some pepper. We honestly couldn't stop eating it. But then again, we LOVE corn. :)

Thai Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
YUM! I loved this recipe, and will be adding it to my recipe box. I made some small changes due to taste preference, but it would be perfect as written too. I used sugar snap peas instead of broccoli, I doubled the sauce (although it would have been fine without doubling), and I added cilantro on the top as another reviewer suggested because I love the taste of cilantro. Wonderful dinner!

Thai Cashew Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This is a really good recipe. I didn't have a problem with the salt. I did add broccoli to it, and I am not sure I would have loved it without the broccoli. That is why I gave it 4 stars. Having just meat and rice would have been lacking.

Pork Chops with Fresh Tomato, Onion, Garlic, and Feta

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
This recipe is Wonderful! I have a fear of cooking pork chops because they always come out so dry for me. So, I followed some of the other reviews and baked it in the oven for the last 20 minutes. It came out very moist and the mixture on top was fabulous. I am excited to make this again.

Apple Almond Crunch Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
This recipe got many compliments at our dinner party. I toasted the almonds, used green onion instead of red, and used craisins instead of raisins. So, it was basically the same. Very good, thanks for the recipe.

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
This were great and easy. I used fresh yams and just cooked them in the microwave until they were soft, then cut them into chunks just like the ones in the can. I also sprinkled some cinnimon in along with the brown sugar. They turned out perfect!

Jen's Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
This recipe started as a 4 star with me, because I wasn't sure I liked it with the BBQ sauce. But then....I feed it to my three sons, (5,3,& 2) and I have rarely seen them eat so much or say how much they love, love, love dinner. So, I had to change it to a 5 star after that success! It is hard to say what different people will think about this recipe, because BBQ sauces vary so much in taste. We used a honey BBQ which would give an extremely different taste than a spicy sauce. I think this would also taste good with everything but the BBQ sauce if you are unsure about it.

Chicken and Summer Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2006
Yummy! This was so easy to make, and my husband really liked it. I used up left over grilled chicken breast from the night before. For veggies I added: zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, and a tomato. For seasoning I added: salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a montreal steak seasoning that jumped out at me. Very good especially for low carb eating!

Edamame is such a delicious, easy, and healthy snack. It is a great and fun way to get kids to eat some veggies too. These were great, and they will become a staple in our home.

Cherry Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
This was very good. My hubby and I are doing the South Beach Diet right now, and this was a great side dish for the diet. You could even leave out the sugar and it would still be good. I added some fresh cubed mozzarella which made it even better. We really enjoyed it.

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
Great recipe. We went strawberry picking and I needed some way to get rid of all of them. This was perfect. Very moist flavorful bread that I made into little heart shaped muffins, and shared with some of my friends. I added about 3/4C more strawberries that I just cut into pieces instead of mashing. I also forgot the walnuts, and by the time I remembered them I had already eaten a muffin, and didn't want to change it because it was so good. :)

Burnt Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2006
I love this "burnt" flavor of frosting. I tasted it at a friends birthday, and she said she just throws things together, and didn't really have a recipe, so I came to allrecipes to find one, and wahlah. I tried it on a birthday cake with my family, and we loved it. It is pretty sweet, so just put a thin layer on the cake. Very Yummy!

Crazy Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
I made this for my sons birthday yesterday, and we thought it was just OK. It was such a strange list of ingredients with all the water. It didn't taste sweet enough to my family and would have been just as easy to bake a box cake. Of course if you have allergies or don't eat eggs, this would be the way to go because it was pretty good, just not the best birthday cake.

Yogurt Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
This was a good cake. It tasted exactly like a pound cake to me. I was hoping the lemon flavor would be stronger, but I used vanilla extract instead of lemon since I didn't have it, and I am assuming that was the reason. Good moist cake though, especially if you made a good lemon glaze to go on it.

Fruit Salad in Seconds

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
I loved the idea of this recipe, but it just didn't taste sweet enough to me. I have decided that it must have been my strawberries, I don't think they were as sweet as strawberries can be. If you find youself in that situation, I would suggest adding some sugar to your strawberries before throwing them into the pot. Otherwise this was a quick easy fruit salad.

Incredible Potato Casserole

I have been making this for years, and it is always a hit. I do add about 1/2 of a diced onion sometimes, which makes it even better. Glad to see this posted so others can enjoy.

Mandarin Chicken Skillet

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
We really liked the combination of most things in this recipe even though my hubby and I thought the orange flavor was a little strong. That being said...I used orange juice instead of the water and concentrate, and I do believe the concentrate would have made it less citrusy and more sweet. I added garlic to the mushrooms. When I try this again I may use cream instead of the OJ. Thanks for the recipe.

Cinnamon Sweet Potato Slices

Very good! My 3 young children loved these. I was looking for a good way to serve sweet potatoes without making the sweet candied yams. This hit the spot.
