Beef Stew V

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
I have been using the same beef stew recipe for years. Out of boredom I decided to search for a new one to try. This was AMAZING. I made this in the slow cooker on high. I didn't cut up my beef into smaller cubes bc I figured the meat would fall apart anyway, which it did. I added peas at last 10 min of cooking. The red wine and browning the floured meat with the onions is what really makes this recipe kick butt. New favorite beef stew recipe!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2014
This is a fantastic basic pancake recipe. I like that you don't need buttermilk. While I love buttermilk pancakes, I rarely have it on hand and I don't have the patience to make my own with vinegar, etc., especially when kids are hungry! The ONLY thing I add is 1/2 tsp vanilla. Kids beg me to make these!

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
This is one of the only things my brother would have an appetite for when he was terminally ill 8 years ago. I've probably made this 50 times and it never disappoints! Only thing I would recommend is to double the goo (mmmmm) and use vanilla bean icecream only. (I prefer turkey hill natural or breyers vanilla bean). It definitely makes a difference. I'm making this for Christmas breakfast as it has been requested by all the kids. Thank you for an awesome recipe!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
I had to play with this a tiny bit before I loved it. I added quite a bit more seasoned salt and pepper and onion flakes. I also made it several times before realizing that it would be better with chicken cutlets instead of the thicker breasts. That seemed to make a huge difference. The fourth time I made it I served it with a honey mustard dressing and it was T-RIFFIC! Thanks for a great recipe, the crunch is awesome!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
This is a very easy and delicious recipe. I think the only thing I'll do differently next time is to only add the pasta to the soup each time it's served, otherwise the pasta seems to soak up the broth and gets kind of mushy after being refrigerated, etc. Also maybe I'll try to use less tomato sauce and maybe add some chicken broth too. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
Wow! It's difficult to believe that such an easy recipe can be soooo good. This recipe is great because it leaves room for substitutes - although I didn't use any this time. I made it with a spicy main dish and it complemented it very well. It had just the right amount of sweetness. In the future I might add some additional ingredients that the other reviewers mentioned, especially if I am making a more subtle-flavored main dish.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This is a pretty great recipe. It tastes even better the next day. I used two cans of cream of celery soup instead of the mushroom / chicken combo. I used mild salsa which I thought would make it bland, but it had the perfect amount of "kick" to it. The only thing I would do differently would be to use more corn tortillas as I used twelve and they seem to be somewhat absorbed once they're cooked. I made a cornbread casserole with it (which I found on this site) and it complemented this recipe very well. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
This recipe is fantastic! Even my picky three year old gobbled it up. I did add onion powder as well as 1 tsp each of worcestershire sauce and ground mustard into the beef mixture. I didn't have any quick oats on hand so I used plain bread crumbs, and a muffin pan worked great for this recipe. It's definitely replacing the meatloaf recipe that I've been using for years!
