Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
wow - the best ham I have ever made! I bought a six pound ham and it wouldnt fit in my slow cooker, so I cooked it in a covered roasting pan in a 300 degree oven for three hours. Fantastic! I also sprinkled a bit of garlic, smoked paprika and rosemary on it during cooking. I thickened the juices and served it as a gravy. This is my household's new ham recipe!

Welsh Rabbit (Rarebit)

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
Very good! My mom used to make this, without the beer, when I was young. Instead of the mustard (didnt have any) I used a tablespoon of prepared horseradish and it was really tasty!

Great, easy recipe. Instead of the semi sweet and butterscotch chips I used 1 cup of milk chocolate chips. Turned out perfect! Freeze well too.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Yummy dish - easy to make! I dusted my chicken in cornstarch first before browning. I also didnt have any brown sugar on hand, so threw in some chunk pineapple while it was thickening. Turned out delicious, thick and tasty!

I really love this dip, and want to make it for a Christmas lunch, but need to substitute the vermouth for an alcohol-free item - does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
Perfect rice! I used a can of fire-roasted tomatoes, kept the rest of the ingredients as is, and it turned out great! I agree with keeping the lid on the rice while it simmers to ensure it cooks properly.

Best coleslaw ever! I used half and half green and red cabbage, left out the radishes and added a splash of cider vinegar. Served it with smoked pork ribs and there wasnt much left over!

Killer Cranberry Chutney

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
Great change from ordinary cranberry sauce! Easy to make and tastes good! It is a bit tart, but thats how we like it - you can add 1/4 cup more sugar if needed. Only change I made was instead of 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, I used 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice. I also cooked it about 15 mins longer so it was a bit more saucier. No need to ever go back to the can after trying this recipe!
