4H Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2005
I'm updating my review because I tried making these again tonight and they turned out soo good...AGAIN. I altered the recipe a bit and added a cup more of bananas and this made it sweeter so I only added a 1/4 cup of sugar. I also added about 1/4 of peanut butter and the whole thing turned out AWESOME!! I can't tell you enougt how good this recipe is, its so quicke and easy an by far the best recipe for a simple banana bread without the choco chips and all that other stuff!!

Artichoke and Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
This was sooooooo good!!! Instead of artichokes I added half an onion (sliced), zucchini for color, mushrooms and garlic. Before adding the can of diced chicken, I sauteed all the veggies and then poured the tomatoes in with the pesto mixture. Since I didn't have sun-dried tomatoe pesto...I chopped up sun-dried tomatoes from a jar and mixed it with pesto from a jar and it was perfect!!! I will definitely make this again!!

Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
WOW! THis might be the best soup I've ever made...although I made a few changes. I used no potatoes because the starch. Broccoli, onions, zucchini, red pepper,greenpeppers,mushrooms..basicallyanything I had in the fridge...anything will do! I used non fat milk and maybe 1/4 cup of cheese. I wanted to make this as healthy as possible. I wish I could give this 6 stars!!! I also used fresh dill weed.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
This is the best apple pie I have ever had and ever made. Just a few key ingredients... simple and perfect. I used the pie shell mix from Betty Crocker I think, the one where you just add water and it turned out buttery and flakey. I used half Granny Smith and half Fuji. It made it Sweet and Sour! I listened to some of the reviewers and poured the mixture when it was half way stacked and then the rest on top. Left a little bit of the mixure to brush the top crust. I can't tell you enough about this recipe. I was soooo good. Add real whipping cream or vanilla ice cream and it makes it even better.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
This was sooooo yummy! I had a whole bunch of whipping cream left so I decided to make this for a Super Bowl party. What a HIT! I followed the recipe exactly but next time I will definitely use only a 1/2 a can of the condensed milk, not like it wasn't great with the whole can but just to make it a little less sweet. I used skim milk and it still tasted awesome so maybe even low or not fat cream cheese next time. This will definitely be one of those recipes I'll keep forever!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This was soooooo good. Quick and simple and so delicious. I did use about 5 garlic cloves and also some fresh parsley in the olive oil. Make sure you don't burn the garlic! Heat the mixture for about 3min on low.I also got the butcher to pound the chicken thin, this makes it easier to cook through. I also used VIGO brand breadcrums, I'm not too sure if you can get this brand at any supermarket but I live in Miami so its always on hand. By far the best breadcrumbs, it has a bunch of spices in it that makes it extra tasty! My husband loved it, this is definitely a keeper!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
These cookies are soo yummy! Mine always turned out pretty PLUMP so I figured out the reason why....I wasnt melting the butter! I've never made cookies where you had to melt the butter so I thought it was a miss-print...duh. Even though I left the butter at room temperature, they still turned out awesome!! I will try the melting method and I'm sure they'll be nice and flat and chewy!!

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
I live in japan and don't really have access to alot of easily accessible baking goods like I did back when I was home in Canada so when I found this recipe, I had all the ingredients on hand except the choco chips but desperately needed to use my two ripe bananas. One ingredient that I took with me was good ol baking powder but didn't think about bringing soda thinking they would have some here but boy was I wrong. So finding a recipe with baking powder was also a mission. You also may not know this but we don't have ovens here, none of the apartments or houses come with one , it's like a luxury here so I rely on my Oster oven. I was pretty worried about using the baking powder since everyone was posting about using soda instead but I had faith in this recipe. I made it with little exceptions besides adding some vanilla and a scoop of peanut butter since I didn't have any choco chips. Baked it in a small round cake pan I think it's around 8 inches and it turned out pretty good! I would probably give it a 5star when I make it next time with choco chips and more bananas! Great recipe though!

Spanish Rice II

I'm sure it was my fault that I used Japanese rice because it turned out really mushy. But the flavour was good.
