Vanilla Ice Cream IX

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
LOVE THIS ICE CREAM!! I have made it four times so far! We liked the lemon flavor but also have made it with half the lemon and added more vanilla, and have also made it using 4 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla only. Great either way, depending on your taste. Very rich and creamy!!

World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
Delicious! Made this for son's birthday bash, there was hardly any leftovers. People loved the flavor. I used only 1/2 the onion, but doubled every thing else to make enough for 15 guests. I also added chopped sweet gherkins as well! Yummy, a keeper!

Vince's Marinated Strawberries and Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2006
Delicious!! We tried this with friends after a BBQ the other night...it was sophisticated and decadent. I recommend using good quality vanilla iced cream like Haagen Daz or Breyers.

White Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
This cake had a WONDERFUL rich flavor! Very heavy! Loved it! I made it in a 13 X 9 pan and checked it often, ended up baking it for 40 minutes total. HOwver, the frosting was a mess - - maybe I did something wrong, but it never did whip up to whipped cream consistency, although it did have good flavor. I question the addition of "white sugar"; I've never heard of icing made with white sugar, only powdered sugar. I WILL definately make this cake again, but will use a different frosting, or experiment with making my OWN version of white chocolate frosting.

Divine Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
This casserole had alot of flavor, however, I thought that it was not enough sauce to it; maybe next time I will use tomato sauce vs. tomato paste. Also, I think adding mushrooms and maybe some mozzarella or cheddar cheese would make it better. I did not think that adding the melted butter made it overly rich, as some people complained about - - the flavor was great!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
If you like chili dogs, this recipe was for you - - easy and yummy! However, I would add finely chopped onions when I make it again, and possibly some mustard could be added somehow...I like mustard and onions on my chili dog. The kids loved it, tastes just like a chili dog from a fast food restaurant!

Fast and Easy Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
DELICIOUS!! My husband and son loved this take on traditional biscuits and gravy. The casserole part (ie. the sauce) was rich and thick and creamy, real comfort food on a chilly night. My son asked me to make it again the next night and add frozen peas, so I added 1/2 cup of frozen peas and it turned out just as yummy. Highly recommend you try this recipe, it's a keeper and so easy when you are pressed for time!!

Fried Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
My grandma made fried sweet potatoes like these when I was growing up. They are the ultimate comfort food in my book! Tender and flavorful with a rich buttery brown sugar glaze and chunks of carmelized brown sugar sticking to them. YUMMMM!!

Chris' Bay Area Burger

My husband, teen son and I grilled these and we weren't really impressed. I guess I was expecting something more flavorful, more WOW. Probably wouldn't make them again, thanks anyway.

Hawaiian Chicken II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
Excellent, with in our opinion, a perfect meld of flavors. You can't really taste the white wine, however, the sauce has a distinctive flavor to it that is sooooo good. Served it with rice and a little soy sauce. Next time, will try adding cornstarch to thicken the sauce after cooking, and will add green peppers and pineapple. My husband and teenage son absolutely LOVED it, want me to make more ASAP!!!

Pineapple Sheet Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
Delicious!! My husband who doesn't even like coconut ask for seconds. A very moist, rich cake with a decadent topping. The buttery praline flavor of the icing is superb with the pineapple flavor of the cake itself. Also, very easy to make. Definately a keeper for us!!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2005
These were very good...my husband and son had seconds and asked me to make them again tomorrow night! A very hearty meat dish...I paired mine with some rice and some cooked baby carrots. I would recommend doubling the gravy, and also adding sauteed mushrooms to the gravy. A keeper!

Cream Cheese Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This chicken was GREAT!!! Very very rich!! However, I did have some trouble getting the breasts to roll up, then dipping them in the sauce and walnuts. Finally, I just spread the breasts with cream cheese mixture, then poured the dijon sauce over all and sprinkled walnuts on top and baked. I served it with jasmine rice. My teenage son had seconds and thirds!! We'll DEFINATELY make again and again, THANKS!!
