Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Great as written but I tweaked it a little bit to fit my taste. I left out the oil...didn't miss it. Cut sugar amount in half, and it was still sweet enough and delicious. Then I used celery seed instead of poppy seeds, and celery salt instead of regular salt. I love how this recipe simplified and guided me to make the perfect coleslaw.....thanks Sandi for sharing.

Really good...but oh so greasy! Can be a real mess in the oven but everyone loved them so it was worth the hassle.

Make Ahead Party Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
These were awesome! I made this for Thanksgiving instead of the same ole' recipe and everyone agreed that this was the best potatoe dish they had ever eaten. They were great with the gravy too! However this is not something I would serve on a regular basis, just on special occasions because of the high fat and calories, but it sure is nice to indulge every once in a while. Thanks for sharing

Raspberry Balsamic Dressing

This was very delish, I added a few more things(garlic powder , minced onion and honey) but this one is definatly a very good base to start with, or it is very tasty just as written. Thanks

Favorite Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This pie is delicious and so easy. I just used a bourbon that I happened to have on hand (Jim Beam) but I think any bourbon would do. I was worried that it might have to strong of an alcohol flavor, but it cooked right out and left it with a more sophisticated taste that was a welcome change from the same ole' pecan pie. Everyone loved it so I will be making again soon! Thanks for sharing Kimberly

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
This one is a keeper, my husband likes this one so much I have to make it again, just a week later! Like others, I ommited the white sugar and instead of ground beef, I used some spicy sausage that I had on hand. Really great if you like spicy. I think this recipe is perfect as written or you can tweek it a little to suit your taste buds like I did. Thanks to Kathy for sharing

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
Tried and True for 4 generations!!! I tried skipping this dish last Thanksgiving and I never heard the end of it. Best to make just the way the recipe says before trying to tweak it....you will more than likely enjoy it more just the way it is.

Strawberry and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
First tried this one as is and it was excellent!!! The dressing really is the star here.... I sometimes switch things around depending on what I have on hand but it is always delish!!! Some of the other variations I have tried are mandarin oranges with pecans or walnuts and Parmesan cheese instead of feta but whatever I use it is always very good. Thanks for this wonderful dressing. I am keeping this on the books as it is very addicting!!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
This is the most awesome! Depending on what I am making I may vary it a little. Sometimes I add a bit of garlic powder or even 1 Tbsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice. But no matter what I do...I have learned that you must start with this recipe as a base and it will come out as wonderful as any fine Italian Restaurant. Thanks!
