Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This is a great recipe to base your bruschetta off of. After using this, I've been able to play around and add various things, but no matter what, it really tastes great. I love to top this off with some really good balsamic vinegar.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
Great frosting recipe! Per the advice of others I reduced the powdered sugar to about 2 1/2 cups, but it seems that any amount of powdered sugar between 2-4 cups would be just fine. Otherwise, everything else was to the T. I used this frosting on homemade cinnamon rolls.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
Yum! Now this is the way to eat Brussels sprouts! I made the dish just as the recipe suggested and it turned out beautifully. So beautifully that I even made it again the next day. If you are serving Brussels sprouts for people you aren't sure will like the vegetable, this is a great dish to entice them.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
Yum! With so many reviews I doubt mine will ever be read, but I followed the recipe almost exactly as written and it turned out wonderfully. The only changes I made were because I didn't have the prescribed ingredients - I substituted walnuts and dried cherries and both taste great!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was a hit at Thanksgiving! I did not stuff it into my turkey - I baked it (covered) for about 35-40 minutes at 350. Because of some other earlier reviews I used extra chicken stock (about 1 cup) and it turned out great. The flavors were extremely delicious and worked very well together!

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Luscious is right! This was just the right amount of spinach to artichoke and extra creamy (I think I made mine creamier than the recipe called for). I also sprinkled some extra mozzarella and Romano cheese on top to give it a nice cheesy layer to dig into. This dip is great with pita chips, tortilla chips and slices of a baguette. Great recipe!!

I used this recipe for my leftover Thanksgiving turkey and it was so great! The flavor and the consistency was just right. I used the recipe for the Best Pie Crust from this site and it turned out really well.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
This is without a doubt the best chili ever! It's easy to make, though there are a lot of ingredients, and it just gets better and better with age. I made this exactly how the recipe called and it turned out fantastic.

Yummy Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This title is very adequate. Yummy is a great word to describe this cheese ball. I made this exactly according to the recipe and it turned out great! I hadn't had a cheese ball since I was a child, but I am glad I found this great recipe. It tasted so amazing! The left overs are still a hit around the house.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
YUM! That's all I have to say. I didn't make any adjustments at all - it was perfect just as described in the recipe. This is MUCH better the day you bake it, the crust starts to get soggy if it sits too long - best to eat it all right away.

Mongolian Beef and Spring Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
I LOVED this dish - perhaps even a new favorite. The flavor was divine. The brown sugar made the flavor very sweet, but then the ginger and soy sauce added a new Asian dimension. Absolutely delicious. The only thing I changed was that I cooked everything in the same pan. When the sauce was through cooking I transferred it to a bowl and then just fried up the beef in the same pan and added the liquid back into it at the end. I paired this with Restaurant Quality Fried Rice from this site.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
This is SO good! I followed the recipe almost exactly as written. The only thing I did differently was use fresh herbs. I was out of thyme, so I had to omit. The flavor in the reduction really intensified the flavor of the lamb. I served this with roasted asparagus and another recipe from this site - Greek Orzo.

Pasta Shells with Portobello Mushrooms and Asparagus in Boursin Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
I REALLY enjoyed this! We even had seconds, which is a rarity in my house. The flavors that the Boursin cheese adds to the dish is just wonderful. When I made the dish I had just run out of mushrooms - if I enjoy it so much without the mushrooms, I can only imagine how much better it would be with the addition of the mushrooms. Thanks for sharing this recipe, I would have never thought to use Boursin in a cream sauce.
