Glorified Baked Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
You may not want to make it for company since it looks really gross, but its a good way to use a head of cabbage

Magic's Green and White Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
Try to be smarter than me and don't beat the noodle dough with an electric mixer. And don't try to start rolling the dough when its too wet. But that problem was partly because I don't think the proportion of flour to eggs is quite correct. It needs either more flour or less eggs. But it was quite yummy when finished. Use a really big pot. You might even use two pots.

Fantastic Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Maybe it was because I used egg substitute, but mine needed to be cooked a lot longer. Maybe putting the batter in two pans would have made mine firmer also.

Mediterranean Lamb and Lentil Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
Mmm, s'good. I let the lentils soak the night before. That worked well because they required less cooking

Brown and Wild Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
Too sweet and too vinegary. It probably only needs half of the dressing this calls for.

Pineapple Pizzas

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Easy, different, and so good! The pineapple/sausage mixture is just the right combination of sweet and salty. I did think the tomato paste dominated a bit too much, so just spread a little of that on your pizzas.

Curried Quinoa

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
Very good. I just discovered quinoa, and this was the first recipe I made that uses it.

Lentil Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
I agree about the unappealing texture. I don't think lentils belong in quiche.

Yellow Squash Patties

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
I don't understand the part about draining the squash. Putting salt on it is supposed to extract water? Nothing drained from mine. We ate these with Ranch dressing, and the dressing was all you could taste. This recipe is going to make a LOT of patties unless you the number of servings.

Green Tea Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
Delicious! This cake got gobbled up quick. Like other people have said, the amount of icing this recipe produces is not enough for the cake. Go ahead and multiply the icing ingrediants by one and a half, or two. And I would not recommend making this using regular green tea. Find the green tea powder/matcha/maccha at an Asian foods store. It is so fine, it looks nothing like regular green tea.

Spicy Soup

It is okay if you have some broccoli and cauliflower that you need to use for something.

Depression Era Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
Since so many people said it was watery, I used one can of chicken broth and one can of cream of chicken soup instead of two cans of chicken broth. That worked fine.

Eggplant Mexicano

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I fried them, and I didn't realize how much oil eggplant can soak up, so I ended up with very soppy eggplant which wasn't very appetizing. If you want to try this, follow the directions and grill them. Or else limit the oil you use when frying.

Follow the suggestion to serve it with ice cream or whipped cream. It is not tasty enough by itself.

Raisin Sour Cream Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2006
These are pretty good. Would be just fine served as a dessert. The baking dish I used was smaller than 9"x13". I think 9"x13" is too big; the layers would be so thin. As far as the cooking time, 20 minutes was enough for me because I didn't eat any right away. After chilling it in the fridge, it was sturdy enough.

NAAAAZZZTY. I ate two of them and threw the rest in the trash can. I wish I could explain the discrepancy between all the raving reviews and the nastiness of what I ate.
