Fresh Pear Bread

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
I made this as a dessert-type thing to have after a roast pork as I had an abundance of pears, and the whole family loved it. Yummy and moist, with a pleasant yet subtle taste of walnuts. Will be making this again!

Salmon Loaf

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
This is a nice quick recipe for those nights when I want dinner in a hurry. I add a finely chopped onion, 1 tsp dried parsley and a tsp of thousand island dressing sometimes if I want more flavour. This is on our regular weeknight menu. Thanks for the recipe!

Home-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
This was yummy! I served at an an informal dinner party and my finacee told me that I have to make these again. Tonight I am going to try them with hunks of carrot as I have a lot of carrots and no peppers.

Almond Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
This was quite yummy. I served it mixed up with rice, doubled the sauce and added some pineapple chunks to the stir fry. This a good healthy meal that is also filling. next time I may put more ginger in though, as I could hardly taste it.

Mushroom Soup Without Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
I served this soup for the first time with the Crispy Cheese Twists from this site at a dinner party, and everyone agreed that it was really yummy. Since then, I have been making big bowls of it every Sunday and taking it to work for lunch and eating it for a snack. Thanks for such a great, healthy recipe!

Crispy Cheese Twists

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
These were so delicious! I only had Mozerella cheese so I used that, and these came out so cheesy and tasty. I served them with the Mushroom Soup Without Cream recipe on this site for a dinner party entree and everyone thought they were fantastic.

Pineapple Shrimp Rice Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
I had to quickly make somthing for a potluck and chose this dish. Everyone raved about it and there were no leftovers! I did make a few changes to what I had on hand; I used chicken instead of ham and omitted the green pepper as I did not have any. I also sprinkled some chives on top for presentation after I had taken it out of the oven. This will become a regular, thanks for a great recipe.

Banana Prune Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
The dough seemed quite hard and gloopy when I put these in muffin papers, and so I cooked them for 25 minutes and let them cool. I bit into one this morning with caution as they seemed a bit weird, but they tasted really good! Appearances can be deceiving! I guess maybe next time I will add some more banana, as looking back I realised I had only put one banana in as opposed to one cup, whoops. They were still really good though.

Tex-Mex Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
Thankyou so much for a salad recipe that does not use creamy dressing or vinegar! Due to allergies, I made this for my partner and I to take to work for lunch. It was really good, even though I did use frozen beans, which I think made it a bit soggy. Thanks for the recipe!

Cheesy Tuna Mornay

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
Both my partner and I gave this 5 stars, even though we both are not big fans of tuna. This was super yummy! I did add 1 tsp thyme and 1/4 tsp black pepper as I was worried it was going to be bland, and I used fettucine noodles as that is what I had, but still used the tuna, cheese sauce, peas and corn, and it was so good. I will definately be making this again.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This was one of the best soups I have found on this site, even though I omitted the butter and sour cream. I ate this right up and so did my partner, even though he is not a big mushroom fan. And it smelt fantastic whilst it was cooking! Thanks for a great recipe. *UPDATE* I used this recipe in a soup competition and won first prize!

Ground Turkey Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
I took this to a potluck dinner tonight and it went down a treat, everyone loved it, asked for seconds and also the recipe! The only change I made was use ground chicken instead of turkey as that was all I had, but it was still super yummy and a success. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Garlic Dill New Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
These went down a treat at a potluck dinner tonight and smelt really good, but next time I may use more dill as it did not have a lot of flavour, probably becuase I used dried. So I will try these again with fresh dill.

Sour Cream Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
I thought this was pretty average, but my fiance loved it! Good way to use up leftover sour cream though. And at least it is a good way to get my man to eat his greens, so I will make it again becuase of that.

Crab Pitas

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This gets 5 stars from me as my fiance ate it and he hates crab! Of course, I love crabmeat so I ate these right up, but I was pleasantly surprised when he ate them. He did put some chilli sauce on top of his pita bread as a garnish, but still, they are fabulous to eat.
