Greek Spaghetti II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2005
I made this recipe exactly as it said and it was just not what I expected. My husband and kids liked it, but I thought it just had way to much parmesan cheese in it and it was very overpowering. I will not be making this again.

Thirty Minute Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Used this to make a Honey bun cake with since I didn't have a yellow cake mix box handy. I followed another reviewers advice and used a stick of butter (no shortening) and added an extra egg (honey bun cake calls for 4 but only used the 3). Also followed the recipe using milk and omitted the oil from my recipe for the Honey Bun Cake. Ended up having the best one I've ever made. Extremely moist. Don't think I'll ever use a box mix for it again. Cake was gone in less than a day. Thanks for the terrific recipe.

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This is the easiest and best brownie recipe I have ever made. I didn't have any of the unsweetened chocolate squares so I used 3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa and 1/3 c. oil mixed together instead. Also used a glass cooking pan generously covered with non stick cooking spray. Did not have any problems at all getting them out. Topped them with the Fudgy Cake Icing recipe from this site. They were perfect. Thanks for the easy recipe. Will use over and over.

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Fudge Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
I've only used the recipe for this icing, not made the cake so that's what my rating is for. Only thing I did have to do differently was use the electric mixer on it for 10 min. to get it to thicken up like I wanted. Poured it on the recipe from this site for one bowl brownies and let it sit a couple of hours. Fantastic!! Thanks for the recipe.

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
I can't make gravy...at all, but this recipe is so easy and tasty. We have this for breakfast 2-3 times a month and it always turns out great. Only thing I do differently is cutting the milk down to 3 c. instead of 4 otherwise it isn't as thick as we like. Thanks Bonnie for this wonderfully easy recipe.

No Bakes

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
I have made these for years. A tip for the people having problems with them setting right, I have found one method that makes them always turn out right. Bring to a boil, have a cold glass of water with you, after the time mentioned is up drop a tiny amount in it, if it "splatters" in the water it is not done cooking yet. I usually end up having to cook them for 5 minutes sometimes a tad longer before they are done.

Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
Made this to take for Thanksgiving at my in laws as well as my moms house. Used cream of chicken instead of mushroom, doubled the cheese, and omitted the onion. When it first comes out of the oven it's very soupy looking, but if you allow it to sit for a little while it does thicken up. Huge hit with no leftovers which made the hubby pout a bit..Will be making again soon for him.

Zesty Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Maybe this is an aquired taste but I gave it an honest go. Followed the recipe completly. The mix on top was way to thick to try and spread and just weird.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2013
Best soup EVER! My entire family loved this. Only thing I did different was double the recipe and add a bag of instant mashed potatoes to thicken it up and a little extra pepper. Will make this one over and over. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Cube Steak Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2013
This is a very easy recipe and one you can easily play with to make it to your taste. Used frozen and fresh veggies instead of canned, added a can of tomato sauce to it, left the onion out (for hubby), added with the seasonings in the recipe a McCormick vegetable beef soup seasoning mix, took 3 tbsp of butter not 1/2 tbsp. frying the meat, and used double the water and bouillon and could have easily used another cup or 2. The longer it sits there the thicker it gets. Very tasty result though..Entire pot was devoured in minutes.

Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2013
First time ever making potato soup and it was a HUGE hit. Everyone ages 5-36 loved it. Only thing I did different was left out the onion (none of us are huge fans of them..), and cut up 5 potatoes and boiled them until softened before adding the mashed potatoes so it would go farther and be more filling. Was nice having such a light yet filling meal combined. Will be making this over and over! Thanks for sharing this one!

Boneless Buffalo Wings

This recipe is amazing. Had to make double the amount of dry mix as called for, but wow. The kids, hubby, and me all loved them. Wouldn't change a thing!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
Rating only the bread mixture as I completely changed the inside to our individual taste so each one was very different. Very easy to make. Only thing I would change is to turn it into 4 calzones instead of just 2. Trying to move them to the pan with them being as big as they were was a complete nightmare. Will be making again.

Pinto Beans With Mexican-Style Seasonings

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
These were great. We left out the cilantro (didn't have any) and I did not put the onion in while it was cooking (hubs hates onions). Cooked all day in the crock pot with chicken broth instead of water. Added some leftover hamburger to it and an entire pack of bacon. When it was close to done stir fried up peppers with the onion and added it to individual bowls. Topped with Mexican cheese, salsa, and sour cream. Used tortilla chips to dip with. Outstanding. My youngest who has always refused to eat pinto beans ate a huge bowl. Definitely making this again!!

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
Fantastic!! Only made 2 minor changes. First I used smoked sausage instead of Italian, and cooked the green peppers separately as not everyone here likes them. Easy and made a huge pot. Fed 4 of us easily with some not finishing their plates. Cheap and easy. Definitely a keeper!

Cheesy Italian Pull Apart Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
I made 2 pans of these tonight. First pan was made in a glass one and cooked perfectly. Second was in a dark metal pan and they all burnt on the bottoms. Both were cooked the same amount of time (15 min.). Will definitely be making them again, but only in my glass pan. Fantastic recipe.

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Holy lamas. Made this tonight and served it over rice and stir fry veggies for those of us that eat them. Hubby's review..."Best Ever".. I did use 4 bullion cubes and baked at 325 in my iron skillet covered for 2 hours instead of leaving it on the stove. These were fall apart, cut with a fork tender. Found my new way of making them. Freaking epic good!!

Heather's Best Ever Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
Turned to this to try something different. The meat was very tender and juicy, but overall it was just OK. The ranch flavor cooks completely out (good thing since my oldest hates it), but if you're looking for more ranch flavor add a ranch packet to the bread crumb mixture. If I make this again going to have to add more seasonings to it as my whole family likes way more spice.
