Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
These were good, and all were eaten at the New Years Eve party. I followed a couple of other reviewer recommendations - boiled the peppers 4-6 min to take heat out and to get them to cook without burning the bacon, I also mixed the cream cheese with a ranch packet, and I baked them at 425* for 25 min. Next time I make them I will add a different seasoning to the cream cheese. The ranch just did not pack enough flavor. Only 4 stars because of all the adjustments.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
I cut these into fries about 1/4" thick and I could not get them to crisp up. I baked them first at 450 for about 20 min, then put them under the broiler for another 5 min. They started getting black spots and I pulled them out, but they STILL were not crisp. They did have a great flavor, but to get crisp I think I have to fry them in oil next time.

My kids did not eat these, and I think they still had a very strong bitterness to them.

Ginger Orange Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
We made these wings and the Japanese Chicken Wings recipe from this site. The clear favorite was the Japanese in our house; however I do think these would have been really good if sampled on their own. These did have a lot of orange flavor to them, but I probably used more like 1 cup of orange concentrate and I also used the juice of 1 lemon (more than 3 tablespoons I think). I also only marinated these for 1 1/2 hours and I did put them under the broiler for a few minutes at the end to get them more crispy and sticky. I think if they were breaded & fried, they would be closer to the Panda Express Orange Chicken flavor.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
These were awesome. We made these and the Ginger Orange Glazed Chicken Wings recipe from this site, which were good, but the clear favorite in our house was the Japanese Chicken Wings. The sauce reminded me of the Jack Daniels sauce from TGIF.

I will be serving this today for our Christmas meal. I made it last year and everyone loved it. This time I did add a diced tomato and italian seasonings.

Breakfast Calzones

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
These were a bit disappointing. They were a bit dry and needed extra seasoning. Next time I would try brusing the tops with butter & adding some spices!

Pumpkin Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
Surprisingly my kids loved this. I didn't even put icing on them - I made them as cupcakes. I did add more spice, and subbed the veg. oil for applesauce.

Sweetheart Brownie Sundae

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
Who doesn't love brownies and ice cream? I made this with a large heart pan and it was a little bit difficult getting the ice cream to re-freeze and not melt into the brownie. Next time I would even refrigerate the brownies before putting the ice cream on.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
OMG, this was FANTASTIC!!! I cooked a larger chicken for about 1 hr 15 min. I also took a suggestion from another reviewer and heated the oven to 500 then reduced to 475. I also added chunky red potatoes that I had drizzled olive oil and garlic salt on. Honestly, the potatoes were TO DIE FOR!! Crispy on the outside and as my kids said, "on the inside they taste like mashed potatoes". YUMM-O

Pork Chop and Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
I am not a fan of this recipe. I probably made it wrong, but the pork was extremely dry, the cabbage had almost no flavor, and the potatoes tasted like the cream of chicken soup. We ended up ordering pizza.

Asian Turkey Burgers

We have made this recipe several times and it is really good, has a great flavor. I usually make the patties, then freeze them. Then they can be easily cooked on the George Foreman Grill for lunches, ect...

Vanilla and Chocolate Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2004
My Mom made this while I was growing up, and it is our absolute favorite dessert. My Sis actually still has her make it for her birthday cake!! We have always used just chocolate pudding and top it with pecans. I make this every holiday I can cause everyone requests it now. YUMMY! We always called it Gloria's Delight (don't know why because we don't know any Gloria's, LOL).

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

This is an excellent recipe for fish. My husband liked it so much he asked me to make extra for him next time. I make it on the George Forman grill and serve it with CousCous, and steamed veggies. Quick and easy!

Sizzling Southwest Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2004
This was a great, easy, and quick recipe for a burger. It reminds me of a specialty burger you would find in a TGIF or Applebees. I added a tomato, and subbed American cheese for my kids. Thanks so much for posting this delicious recipe. Next time I plan on trying the Southwest Roasted Corn Salad. ;)

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2003
Just as the name states, this is EASY. It turned out very good as well. I used one can Cream of Chicken, one can Broccoli Cheese Soup, one can Cheddar Cheese soup. It was very soupy, but I only used 3 chicken breasts. Overall it was excellent, and I will make again.
