Fourteen K Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
Ok, I read the reveiws before making this and found I agree with ONLY ONE! I'd like to know how other people got a wonderful carrot cake out of this, good cake yes, but it didn't taste like carrots at all! I'll be grating my carrots from now on, the shortcut this one takes makes you lose too much flavour!

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Tried this recipe out without making any changes. It tasted sooo good, but was a little sweet. Next time I think I'll omit a bit of the sugar. I used a homemade buttercream icing with it and look forward to making it in the summertime. I think it would be lovely served plain, with fresh strawberries and whipped cream as a new twist on strawberry shortcake!

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Made this with a homemade strawberry cake recipe and it was really good. One of the better recipes I have found for this type of icing! :)

Floating Islands II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Flavour was a little weak, but wasn't too bad. If you have a problem with lumps in the custard, make sure that your not over cooking it....you don't want scrambled eggs, and strain it right away when you take it off the stove. That cools it down enough to stops lumps from forming.

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
This was the BEST ambrosia salad I've had in a looong time. There's only 4 people in my household and it was GONE in 2 days! We serve it as a treat or dessert and it's great to bring to parties (I've taken to bringing a copy of the recipe when I bring it anywhere!).

Tuna Noodle Casserole IV

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
This recipe was ok. I found it a little bland the first time I made it, so the next time I added some frozen green peppers, onion and garlic powder, black pepper, and a pinch of chili powder for kick. I used 1 1/2 cups of marble cheese and instead of croutons I used my crushed cracker and melted butter toppoing (mix 1 cup crushed ritz or salted soda crackers and 1 Tbsp melted butter).

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Turned out great....although the texture was a little more dense then I like...although in all fairness, I am not the pumpkin pie fan in the house, my huby is and he thought it was great! Upped the amount of each of the spices by just a pinch, since we like our pumpkin pie a little spicier and added a pinch of black pepper(I ALWAYS do with pumpkin pie)...definitely make this again!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2007
This is the first recipe I've found that is even close to my Grandmother's old recipe. It's moist, full of flavour and no matter how I alter it, adding fruit, nuts or other things, it always turns out great! I always add 1tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
I love this quiche. It's a snap to throw together and easy to change the ingredients for any meal or occasion. We love it best when we add left over chicken to it and have it with a salad for dinner.
