Party Pinwheels

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
I didn't have any pkged ranch dressing so I just used Hidden Valley Ranch about 1/2c and these turned out perfectly. For some I added a slice of smoked turkey ham. I will make these for the next party again!! They were such a hit as I was cutting the rolls they were being eaten! Now that is a good recipe!!

took this to a wedding reception and it was a hit. Only thing I changed was omitted the brazil nuts and just added more toasted pine nuts.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
when you look at how many reviews there are for this recipe you will know that there is NO need to look for a different cookie recipe. I followed the advice of some other reviewers and increased the flour, soda, choc and added a tablespoon of milk. Also,I toasted some slivered almonds and left out the walnuts. WOW GOOD---forgot to mention one thing, I scraped a vanilla bean instead of the extract...really good flavour

Japanese-Style Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
I tweaked this recipe a bit so that is why I don't have 5 stars....I added julienned carrots, blanched broccoli florets and instead of vinegar in the dressing I used lime juice and used honey instead of the sugar. I really liked the flavour but thought it needed a bit more dressing.

Italian Ribollita (Vegetable and Bread Soup)

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
I found this made alot of soup so have lots of friends over and it does get better with age. The only thing I didn't like and it may have been something I did wrong but the bread was not soaked through and was a bit overwhelming...not exactly like the one I remember from Tuscany but good!

thought this was very tasty. I used my box grater and grated the beets instead of slicing and loved the texture

what beautiful flavours. I made this for a salsa over tilapia(fish) and instead of avocado I used corn. Next time I will try with avocado though. make a bit ahead for the flavours to mix together

I added fish sauce to the dressing and some lime juice instead of the rice vinegar. I also added bean thread noodles to the salad and skipped on the wontons. Loved the flavours thanks!

Great base recipe!! For my taste, I added approx 1tsp cinnamon and 1 cumin and 1/2 a bay leaf but that is just my taste! I also did not have an open bottle of wine so I used 1/2 can of beer and 1/2 can coke!! Love the recipe thanks!!

I must admit that I did change a few things but the basic recipe is great. I added porcini mushrooms and peas instead of the olives and also added some wine to the stock. These are simple and taste great thanks
