Cooking is an adventure at our house!
My favorite things to cook
Comfort foods of course! Being from the south I have a little of Paula in me! LOL
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays meals: all three of my daughters sqeeze into our teeny tiny kitchen and help me cook holiday meals!
My cooking triumphs
When my Grandmother told me my fried chicken tasted just as good as my Mothers!
My cooking tragedies
I could go on for days here! The tragedy that comes to mind first is when I "slightly" burned the ham for our son's Baptism. I slept through the timmer. I was cooking it during the night to "multi-task". I had just had out 4th baby and was timing the ham to come out of the oven about the time he would be finished with his next feeding. The smoke alarm awoke our oldest two daughters! The ham was salvaged and we all laughed about it at the reception. At the same time I was caring for my terminaly ill Mom. Little over two months later we lost her. Even though it was my second worest cooking tragedy (the first was catching the kitchen on fire 6 weeks after we moved into our first home, with nachos) I am so glad we got to laughed about the ham that almost got away! :o)
