I love the grilled chicken at El Polo Tropicale (? sp).  It smells divine and tastes even better than it smells. I buy boneless skinless chicken breasts every time they are on sale, we love to eat chicken; I don't have much of a repertoire when it comes to healthy chicken recipes.  Do you have any good marinades to share or any "secrets" about how to replicate the chicken at tropicale?  Thanks.

I'm going to make honey wheat bread this morning ; was ready to get started about a half hour ago but one of the title ingredients was nowhere to be found (honey).  My niece sent me some local honey from Utah, clover honey, and I thought I would use that to make the bread.  Hubby "tossed" it out.  He offered up a honey-flavored spread as a substitute (how thoughtful of him to enter the dark depths of the kitchen pantry and fish out such a thing), but I said nada.  His "punishment" is to brave the cold cruel weather and travel 4 blocks to the local grocery store (though I would prefer he go to the farmers market and get some local honey) to get this bread on the road!

Next I want to make my own churned butter ..

11:00 a.m. UPDATE:  Got the bread put together, got it kneaded, asked hubby to grease the large glass bowl to put it in for the first rise.  He did a great job.  Plopped the dough into the bowl and it fell into the sink full of soapy water .. tried drying the bread dough with paper towels; they stuck like glue.  The whole mess in now in the garbage can and I have no sense of humor about this.

I'm in Orlando, too. You can amuse yourself by knowing that your husband had to go out in this weather, not you. And, it's been a while since I've gotten chicken at Pollo Tropical, but I would guess it's some sort of mojo citrus marinade. (mojo citrus may be redundant)Good luck and remember that forgiveness is everything. You don't have to forget, though. :)

Oh, poor you! I can't imagine what would have come out of my mouth if I had had that happen to my bread dough. Have you looked at the Mango salsa chicken recipe on here? Maybe you could adapt that. I've never been to Pollo Tropical, but if you search tropical chicken you may find something.

About Me
My cooking tragedies
old-fashioned cooked fudge; dropped the beaters during the last phase of beating until the gloss was gone and had a kitchen decorated in splats and splatters of brown; even the mini blinds did not escape! Fudge ended tasting good, surprisingly... :)
