Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
I absolutely love these cookies! The first time I made them I made another batch the following day!! I added some Allspice into the mix too. I found that if I cooled the batter before baking them they didn't melt as much and retained their form better. XD

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Need to add a little more broth because it was a bit too thick but very easy, hearty and delicious.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Used milk instead of cream and left out bacon but it still came out very thick. I needed to add more broth to make it more like soup than mashed potatoes. Still very tasty.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I made this soup and pureed everything except the cream cheese the day before. Before serving I pureed the soup base with the cream cheese and reheated. It was great. For fewer calories this soup tasted great even before the cream cheese was added. Although if you aren't watching your waistline the cream cheese really put it over the top.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
Absolutely the best "Death by Chocolate" EVERY. No one will believe that it is Kosher for Passover. Switch the butter with margarine and enjoy your Seder.

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Add Celery with onions. Thicken by blending a few tablespoons of some flour into sauted onions before adding water. Add more seasoning -- salt, pepper, parsley.

Lentil Soup

I found that using broth instead of water and adding a can of tomato paste made it richer tasting.

Overpowering lemon flavor. Good light dish but not my summer favorite.

OK but doesn't have the complexity of flavor that I was hoping for.

Asian Chicken Salad

Good dressing. I added some peanut sauce to jazz it up a bit. Could use a few more add-ins.

I added some Bean Threads to the salad just before serving to soak up some of the excess dressing.

Field Salad

Absolutely wonderful. Next time I would buy the crumbled cheese from the grocery store because I had a hard time getting the block cheese to crumble nicely for me at home.

Sweet Potato Oranges

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2005
I cut the orange in half like shown in the picture. I would cut the sugar and butter in half next time. As prepared in the recipe it would be suitable for a desert. Needs some flour or starch to thicken the mixture.
