Chicken Breasts with Chipotle Green Onion Gravy

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
seriously yummy stuff - I had a little bit before I left for a meeting and was hoping to have more when I got home, but the rest of the family finished it off ... that rarely happens, especially with gravy

Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I can't believe I never rated this recipe, we LOVE it. I ended up with extra filing, but it was okay because I had more mushrooms :). My only complaint is I didn't make enough :)

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
this was SOOOOO yummy but the sauce as is is way too sweet, so I ended up doubling everything in the sauce except the sugar. I only had about a pound of beef and I only had white vinegar, I did add some sriachi to the sauce for a little kick

Scrumptious Frosted Fudgy Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
this is my favorite homemade brownie recipe. I use 1 1/2 c of cocoa + 1/2 c of melted butter to sub for the 8oz of unsweetened chocolate (I always have cocoa powder and hardly have unsweetened chocolate) - I also like baking it in a jelly roll pan, it's done in about 22 min and I can get about 50 pieces out of it, it also helps that I like thin brownies ... and I've been successful using milk in place of the cream for the frosting

Southwestern Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
this was very yummy - I made my own "cream of" soup and used flour tortillas and layered everything in the crockpot lasagna style and put it on low for around 4 hours. delish

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
I love these. I've made them a few different times and while it's yummy as written it's VERY buttery. I also love using rolled oats in it, I haven't tried it with instant. Now I half the amount of butter and let the butter/sugar mixture boil for 2 min before adding the vanilla and oats, it sticks together wonderfully and still tastes yummy. I also don't scrape every last bit of chocolate into the pan I save the last bit in the bowl and scrape that into a baggie so I can cut the corner and make pretty squiggles on the top of the bars, always makes it look like this 15 min dish took forever.

Homemade Laundry Soap

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
so easy to make and very economical - if you can't find washing soda then I'd check the pool supply store, washing soda is sodium carbonate (baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, so don't get them mixed up) - sodium carbonate is used for cleaning pools, you need to read the ingredients to find it, the one I have is called ph plus

Broccoli, Corn, and Green Bean Saute

Reviewed: May 1, 2010
LOVE this recipe - I used frozen veggies (the ones called for), add a little garlic powder and because I didn't have feta I used gorgonzola to taste - wonderful, I didn't eat much dinner, just a big plate of this YUM!!

Rosy Raisin Nut Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This isn't bad (well, the dough is, but the cookie's pretty good). It is cakey and I don't care too much for cakey, so it gets a 3 instead of a 4. I did have to make it a chocolate chip cookie instead of raisin because the kids won't eat raisin cookies, they've eaten half of them already. Overall it was fun to try

Dansk Aebleskiver (Danish Doughnuts)

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
I absolutely love this recipe. I like it because I don't have to separate and whip the egg whites. I've made this with buttermilk and also by making your own buttermilk (curdle milk with lemon juice) - recently I also used the eggs in the carton, super easy and YUMMY.

Mini Southwestern Corn Pup Muffins with Fiesta Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
this was exceptionally yummy - I cut the hot dogs up small so my toddler could eat it too and I increased the oil to 1/4 cup - I had to increase the baking time about 5 minutes but the end result was yummy - nothing stuck to the paper liner - I would mix the sauce first before starting on everything else though, really yummy

Rolling Fondant

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
Super easy, yummy and not as sweet as the marshmallow fondant recipe. I put 7 cups of powdered sugar in the kitchen aid bowl and added all the ingredients on top of that (used all oil instead of adding the shortening) and then with the dough hook I turned the machine on low. After all the sugar was kneaded in (by the machine :), if it still looked sticky I added more powdered sugar and when I took it out I only kneaded it a few times before storing. This is my new go-to recipe for fondant.

Milk Braised Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I used 2% milk and this turned out great - don't over salt your pork or the sauce will be salty (I didn't measure the salt and it was a tad salty but not too much). Since I didn't allow my picky kids to eat this with ketchup they tried the sauce and all but the 3 year old liked it. Thanks Ken.

Grandpa's Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This fudge is absolutely phenomenal. I was skeptical that the syrup mixture wouldn't cream up, but I put it in my Kitchen Aid along with the peanut butter and butter (the only substitute I used) and vanilla - it was great, I didn't time how long I had it beating but it was at least 6 minutes and then I poured it into a 9x13 pan. I can't stop eating it, in fact I need to make more because it's part of the goodie trays for the holidays.

Chocolate Pecan Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This is SOOOOO good. I kind of disobeyed the directions and I layered the chocolate and then pecans instead of stirring it all together. I put the chocolate on the crust and then put tons of pecans over it (I think pecan pies never have enough pecans) and then I poured the sugar-y mixture over the top - of course I had extra sugar mixture because I added too many pecans but it was well worth it. Thanks for the delicious recipe.
