About this Cook
I mostly cook for my family. They are pretty picky eaters unfortunately so I am constant trying out new recipes. I love all kinds of foods and enjoy trying foreign foods. I really love foods with a lot of flavor and seasoning.
My favorite things to cook
I like to try new recipes. I like to cook all different kinds of food. I don't have any one kind of food that is my favorite to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have several recipes that were passed down from my Dad that I love to cook. He would cook these when I was a child so I now cook them for my kids.
My cooking triumphs
I have had many triumps. Any recipe that turns out yummy and my family loves is a triump for me!
My cooking tragedies
I have had more than I would like to admit. Luckily I have a very understanding family!

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew
We love this recipe. I have only made it with the helpful hints from Chef Joy. It's easy and so good. Love to make it before I go to work. We have a wonderful dinner at night! I do make the biscuits and potatoes because my family likes both! Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Broccoli Cheese Soup
I was looking for a side to go with ham and cheese Stromboli. My 10 year suggested broccoli cheese soup. This looked like the most promising recipe. We were not disappointed, it was delicious. I did follow other reviewers advice and doubled the cheese and broccoli. I also used half and half instead of milk. I had problems getting it to thicken so I sprinkled flour on top and whisked it in. It still wasn't thickening so I took about 4 cups out and blended it in my Vitamix. It did eventually thicken up. Took seriously about 15 to 20 minutes. I don't know why. Worth the wait!

Taco Turkey Wraps
I was looking for a potluck recipe for my teen daughter to bring to a New Year's Eve party. Came across this. It was easy, didn't have to stay warm, tasted yummy! I followed the recipe exactly. The only thing I would do different is I would probably make 1 1/2 times the sour cream mixture or add another 1/3 cup of sour cream to the already existing mixture. I used spinach and sun dried tomato tortillas for color and flavor.
