Cheesy Vegetable Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
We loved this! I did cut the butter down to 1/4 cup, and only added 2 TB flour and used 2% milk. As written, I think it would be fantastic, I just wanted to cut down on the "un"healthy parts I knew I could adjust. I added a big bag of frozen cauliflower, celery, and one small diced carrot. I think the broccoli, as called for, would have been a great addition! I just used what I had though and it was delish! My kids begged for more until the pot was GONE! Oh, I also added diced chicken to hubby's to give him a dose of protein....try it!

I just made this for a family campout and it was devoured by all!!! I did add 1 TB of baking powder but otherwise followed the recipe. Very moist and the perfect sweetness. This is not just another banana bread which all taste the same...I am in heaven now!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I have been using this recipe for a few years now and we ALWAYS look forward to them! I just add a little bit more milk so we can make letter pancakes...my kids gobble them up faster than I can produce them!

Golden Knots

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
I love this recipe!! I had to bring these rolls to a family function where my mom has always brought the best rolls...SHE asked for the recipe! They were simple and the dough is so silky. We used half the batch for cinnamon rolls and we devoured those as well. Delicious!

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
Perfect! I feel like a great cook until it comes to mashed potatoes...but these turned out great!! I boiled two slices of an onion with the potatoes then mashed them with the rest of the potatoes. I boiled 5 potatoes, used the milk and added about 6 tablesoons of butter with some lawry's salt. I feel very proud tonight :)

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Delicious! I have to admit my husband is not a chicken lover AT ALL and has asked me to do this recipe again for the weekend! My kids even gobble it up, Wow! I only made a few changes: I use chicken tenders that I flatten out slightly, I processed my own breadcrumbs, used real parmesan reggiano, and served over angel hair pasta. I also added the parmesan butter breadsticks from this site (super easy) and it makes a perfect meal with a crisp side salad! Thanks for making this such an easy dinner option, we will use this again and again!

Honey Lemon Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
It is 3:40 in the morning and I was desperate to find something to ease my hacking cough. This worked!!!! This is the most relieved I have felt in 24 hours! I am not a tea drinker so adjusting this to my liking(a bit more lemon)has been just what the doctor ordered! Thanks!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
We liked this...I did sub whole wheat flour and a bit of splenda and honey for the sugar. I also reduced the baking powder to 2 tsp as others have reccomended. I think the original recipe would be even better as written although ours was still delish!

Peach Salsa II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
We loved this! I cut back on the sugar, 1 1/4 cup TOTAL, but kept everything else the same. I was a little bummed that it only gave me 2 pint size jars and a bit, so I ended up making another batch to round it up to 5 jars. It didn't fill the last jar so it is in the fridge cooling for later, yum yum! Overall, delicious! I can't wait for next peach season and I will quadruple the recipe!!!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
MMMmmmm... only changes I made were acording to our families taste. I omitted the green pepper and pimento. Also used 1/4 c sugar and only a little onion because it seemed extra strong. I could eat this for dinner on it's own! Very well received, Thank you

Blueberry and Banana Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
We really liked this!!! I whipped some cream until moderatley stiff peaks formed and then folded in the whipped cream cheese mixture, reserving a bit for topping. I layered the cream cheese mix over the bananas and then topped with a layer of whipped cream. I topped mine with some macerated strawberries and raspberries. DELISH!!!

Steak Salad (Ranen Salad)

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
Hmmm...Mixed reviews here. I really liked my salad, minus the meat with added guacamole. My husband did not care for the dressing, which I unfortunately marinated the steak in as well. Loved the salad portion of it all though and look forward to trying another dressing with it.

So perfect! I was craving a salad from a local deli with their honey mustard dressing and this definitely hit the spot. I used 1/2 Tb. stone ground mustard and 1/2 Tb. yellow mustard. Yummy!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

LOVED IT!! I toppped my cake with the Satin Glaze also on the site as others recommended, and was so glad I did. It reminded me of the little addictive bundt cakes from Quiznos. Delish!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
We love this! My husband requests it and because I dont adore tomatoes and curry, I just add a bit of the chicken/coconut milk in a seperate saucepan and add a bit of cilantro to the pot to jazz it up. That way we are both happy. So easy! And I agree with adding a bit more salt after it simmers.
