Deni's Strawberry Cheese Pie

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
Good flavor. But definitely too much lemon juice. I used lime and used less. I also added a couple of more ounces of cream cheese. As long as it was cold it was good.

Brunch Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
Used 2% velveeta & half light mayo. Then I added a little shredded cheese on top in the last 10 minutes of cooking. Was very good!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
Followed recipe exactly. The texture of the muffins is perfect. However, next time I think I'll add nuts and make the topping with less sugar and add nuts or something. It kind of just tasted like brown sugar on top of the muffin. Overall, a good recipe.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
Soooo good! I tossed some brown sugar over the sausages before I wrapped them and also on the bacon as I went. Everyone loved them, ate them and have requested them again!

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
Wonderful idea. It did take much longer than the recipe indicates to finish baking, though. Overall, I'll do it again when I have a crowd and the time to wait on it!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Great recipe! Only things I did were add cinnamon to the apples (Rome instead of Granny Smith), cook the sauce in the microwave and poured most of it on the apples before adding the lattice crust.

German Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This recipe makes a LOT of fudge! I followed it to a T and the texture turned out nice. It's good but it seemed to taste the same as less complicated recipes I've tried in the past.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Good recipe. I decreased the sugar by half but will decrease it more if I make this recipe again. The texture was very moist. I baked it in a cast iron skillet for 30 minutes.

Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I really liked this recipe but I did modify it a little. I added a can of crab meat, which added another texture and subtle flavor. And I used Red Snapper my husband had caught deep sea fishing instead of cod. Next time I might add cream or something for a slightly creamier flavor. But overall, very good!

Country Seed Bread

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I'm giving this 5 stars because it was good and came out great even with adjustments. I didn't have any wheat flour so I used all purpose in place of it. My bread machine also doesn't have a setting for making a 1 lb loaf so I set it on the 1.5 lb and "light" settings and it came out perfect. I'm planning to make it with wheat flour this week!

Apple Enchilada Dessert

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
Most everyone liked these and they were very easy. Good but not amazing. It was a good dessert for a mexican themed party. Other than for that, I'd prefer to make a home made apple pie or dumplings.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
Very good! I altered the recipe a little because I halved it. I used chicken broth instead of water and boullion, too. I added the whole can of tomato soup even though I halved it and omitted the whole tomatoes. I used mild salsa but added a few spoonfuls of chopped canned jalapenos. And I used drained pinto beans instead of chili beans. Excellent!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2007
Wonderful! I used 1% fat buttermilk, reduced the sugar a tad and used two fairly ripe bananas. It came out nice and moist but crispy on the edges. I'm definitely saving this one in my recipe box!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
YEAST ROLLS - that's what these are! You know those rolls you get at Logans or Ryans? Only somehow better! I didn't know it was possible to make them at home, from scratch. I stuck to the recipe until after I removed the dough from my bread maker. Then I just made 16 rolls out of them, without brushing them with butter. After they were done I did brush them with butter, though. It was so quick and easy. While they were rising I made soup. I cooked them for closer to 10 minutes and they were just turning brown on top. This one of those recipes I wish I could give 10 stars. thank you!!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
I love that I already had everything I needed for this recipe. I got 9 regular sized muffins out of the recipe and i had just a little of the topping left over. I made some of the muffins with fresh blueberries and some with fresh raspberries. 20 minutes was plenty of time to get mine well done. Will make again!

Cadillac Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I had my doubts but this turned out so good. I changed a few things but I chalk it up to personal taste so I still give it 5 stars. I used a little garlic salt instead of garlic powder and light cream cheese and half light mayo/half regular mayo. I used the small block of Velveeta shredded and it wasn't enough cheese so I added some mild cheddar. The only thing I might advise others to change is to add more cheese if you prefer yours to be less mayo"naissy".

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
Very good. Everyone loved it. I thought the Irish cream was very easy to detect. Other people asked, "does this have bailey's in it?" so it seemed to be a good balance of the flavor. The texture was great, too. I just melted the stuff for the last layer in the microwave all together rather than on the double boiler and it turned out fine. I put it on for a minute, stired and then I think for another minute or so.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
LOVED IT! And so did everyone else. I made two loaves and they were gone in no time. I did one with pepperoni and one without. I used the pillsbury dough rather than the frozen kind so it didn't take as long to bake either. Served it with pizza sauce for dipping. I will make this one again, I'm sure!
