About this Cook
I first started baking with my mom at 5 years old. i hardly ever use recipes so this is a new concept for me!
My favorite things to cook
definitely chicken. anything and everything chicken! i love everything about it from the texture of it raw to the taste of it cooked.
My favorite family cooking traditions
definitely ravioli day. all the women (and a few young male cousins) get together once a year to make hundreds of raviolis from scratch. there's ALWAYS a flour fight! We're very italian :)
My cooking triumphs
Award-winning (from church) White Hot Chicken Chili! It's sooo good! Nice and spicy, but it doesn't burn you too much going in and it doesn't burn coming out! hehe.
My cooking tragedies
the first tiny cake i made when i was six. i forgot to use baking soda and it was hard as a rock!

Eggplant Parmesan I
i've been wanting to make this for my girlfriend and we talked about it after the first few bites - too much basil. I also breaded the eggplant before I pan fried it. The mixture had organic breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper and a bit of dried basil. The cheese mixture was awesome other than all the basil! Gonna do half of that next time and add a few other spices in there.

Asian Ginger Dressing
It was a great addition to the asian themed dinner I made last night. My mom thought it was perfect... not to sweet, not too bitter. My sister thought it could have used a tbsp more honey and I agree. i thought that with the striking asian flavors of the pad thai with peanuts and shrimp and the chicken fried rice, a sweeter ginger dressing would have worked even better. so I would add one more tbsp of honey :) other than that, WONDERFUL!
