Overnight Eggnog French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
perfect dish after a party and a few guests spent the night. I should have cubed the bread instead of slices as people were confused and just peeled peices of bread out instead of digging down to get the brown sugar layer (tasty!). I cooked mine at 350 instead of 325, and then 375 at the end. I then ended up leaving it in the oven (had turned it off) to keep warm for about 10 minutes and the top peices of exposed bread went all nice and crusty and delicious. I too added nutmeg and cinnimon... some people added maple syrup, although it wasnt needed at all. def a keeper.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
These were very yummy! I only left them in the fridge for about 2 1/2 hours and it was fine. I also baked on my STONEWARE and they did stick more than anything I have every baked on there, but, nothing serious and nothing ripped or broke. I did have to bake them about 2-3 minutes longer due to the stoneware too. LOVED THEM!

Grandma's Butterscotch Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
Tasted great. Made it for mother in law for her birthday (her fav). Never had it before, or even had seen one, but made it no problem. The only issue I had was I dont have an 'offical double boiler' I just use a pot of boiling waer with a glass pyrex bowl on top (have used this method for dozens of other double boiler instructions and had no problems). We after stirring forever, I couldnt get it to thicken even before I added my egg. I took it off the double boiler and poured it all in a pot and put it right on the burner. It thickened almost instantly, almost too quick had I not been right there. It turned out perfect. I just couldnt see it even getting hot enough the thicken with the double bolier. TASTED GREAT! Moter in laws eyes bugged out of her head she was so excited!

Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
these were super yummy! I suposse they are not as sweet as one would think due to the 2 cups of sugar, but, I had no marg/butter on hand and this recipe came up so it was easy to do. I had to bake for the full 40 minutes and even then the toothpick didnt come out 'clean', but, it made them more fudgy...the way I like them...and the crust, well theres nothing better than a brownie crust!!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
this was tasty, but not quite 5 stars. I omit the nuts as my family isnt nut fans, and I added cinnamin and a caramel sprinkle to the tops. Glad I did as they gave it a nice flavor. Would make again as they were quick and easy and I always have all the ingredients in my house, but they were not spectacular. I only baked them for 18 minutes...and my oven doesnt seem to run hot or other recipes I dont usually need to adjust time.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
first time I made muffins from scratch and they were yummy!!! I thought I made a mistake because the batter had the consitency of cookie dough, but I gave it a chance and it obvoulsy was how it was suposse to be cause they were great. The recipe only made one pan (12) of muffins though, so Id double the recipe next time and the crumble topping was enough for atleast 3 times the batter...

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I had never made banana bread before and I tried making this one and it came out perfect. I read a reviw that said the cinnanin centre was too much cinnamin and it broke back memories of an apple pie I once made with too much cinnamin, so I didnt put in as much as the recipe called for. HOWEVER, It could have used more cinnamin, so next time I will follow the recipe exactly. I made it and took it to a dinner and everyone loved it. Since I never made it before, please take the following into consideration: As a child I never liked banada bread because of the "little black stringy looking" things in it. I am not sure if this one didnt have those because my bananas were not rotten, or this recipe just made a lighter color bread. either way, Ill be making it again! Yummy!!!

Creamy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
this was good, and super easy. it took no effort, and it actually tasted good. My husband hates chicken cause its so "boring" and he actually like this. The soup was like a gravey and I drizzeld the excess over the breasts. the only thing I might do differently next time is cut each breast in half lenght ways, so that the middle of the "big" breast isnt "boring". But we liked it!

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly, (except I cheated and used a cake mix, betty crocker devils food I think) and they were delicious. I wouldnt compare them to cupcakes with icing in the middle, they were more like a cake with a cheesecake centre. YUMMY! I did have to double my cream cheese filling though as I had alot more cake batter from the mix, but, then I had lots of chream cheese filling left over. I frooze it though for next time, and Ill see how it makes out after being frozen.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
tasy, more peanut buttery tasting than I wanted, but good....the batter was really dry and crumbly so I thought I did somthing worng, but it formed "balls" well and the cookies turned out fine. I used my hand mixer initally to work the peanut butter and butter, egg, and vanailla into the dry ingredients and then mixed the choc chips in by hand.

Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
being from nova scotia myself, I had to try this recipe. I had the inlaws over for supper and it was a HUGE hit!! I was concerned cooking it because when I took it out of the oven, it was still really "jiggly". so I left it in the spring pan and put it in the fridge for a couple hours. It firmed right up and tasted WONDERFUL. I will be making this agiin, and maybe trying to substitue different fruit!!!
