Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
I have tried a few different recipes from this site and have had to tinker with them all. I will say that this one, was the easiest to work with after chilling over night. I feel that it is very bland by itself and the cookie from this recipe must be frosted. But I overall enjoyed the cookie.

Grandad's Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
I absolutely love these pancakes and have made them tons of times since I found this recipe. I always double it to feed myself and two boys. So we can snack on the leftovers throughout the day:) I usually add either almond or vanilla extract to switch it up. I think the sweetness is perfect as is. We dont even use syrup or butter. Dont overmix, batter is usually lumpy...thry will fluff up nice and thick.

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2013
I love this recipe. I used a thermometer and cooked it to 230, which takes quite a bit longer than 18 minutes on my stove. Although it set quick it came out slightly dry. I have also made this recipe with 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and prefer it that way actually.

Old-Fashioned Pancakes

I love this recipe! I have made it according to the original recipe and now have developed my own spin. I use buttermilk instead of regular milk and add some vanilla or almond extract.

We just weren't a big fan of this. Not on day one anyway. Tasted better on day six. Also like so many others have stated, this makes waaaay more servings than the recipe states!

I absolutely LOVE this recipe. I have made it according to the directions, and made one single change since. I use V8 instead of tomato sauce. Everything else I follow exactly. Delicious!

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

I absolutely loved this dish!!! I was confused by the frozen veggies after cutting up all those fresh ones. So next time I think I will use all fresh produce. I followed everything exactly as stated and was really impressed! Mmmmm can't wait to reheat some for lunch!!

Chicken with Quinoa and Veggies

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
I really loved this dish! This was my first time eating quinoa, and although it will take some getting used to, it is very good! I am rating 4 stars based on recipe as made. But for future times I make this, I think I'll add some bell peppers and more more more feta and lime! Absolutely delicious and filling!!

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2012
This was very very very very bland. It was unedible to both me and my seven year old. I had to make a lot of changes to be able to eat it. I will read other reviews and see what others have done to be able to give this recipe 4 and 5 stars! I'm rating as recipe is stated though.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2012
I made these exactly as written, using all organic ingredients, as I am trying to get my household to go a little more natural and healthy. The amount of sugar really did worry me as I was pouring it in. Now that I have made the recipe, I know to reduce the sugar next time!! I mean the apple butter is pretty sweet/ tart itself. I just think 1 1/4 cup sugar is a little much. Plus you have the sweetness from the chopped up apples and raisins. Overall a good muffin, just would change the amount of sugar. Everything else was great. And oh yea, I bought a bag of carrots that were already shredded so it wasn't a very 'labor intensive' recipe.

Spiced Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
So. I made this twice. The first time I followed recipe to the 't'. And while it tasted delicious, it did not set at all, even in the fridge. So the second time I changed a few things. I added a little more pumpkin (3/4 cup) only used one stick of butter and added the marshmallow cream after it started the rolling boil. And then brought it to a rolling boil again and then cooked it for 18 minutes which brought it to exactly 240 degrees. This time Im glad to say it set PERFECTLY!! Water is your enemy with fudge and pumpkin has a lot of it, so it definitely needs to cook a while. I believe adding the marshmallow cream and then bringing to the soft ball stage boil was the key.

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
These were no doubt fluffy but like others said, they were bland. Definitely could use more blueberries and flavor. But its a good starter recipe. I always make according to the recipe the first time, but the next time I make these, I will make plenty of changes and have a different' recipe

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
I loved this recipe. My rating is based on it as is. But here are my changes after: Did not like the sauce/gravy, so I did as others suggested and used the packet of dry french onion soup mix. On my second time making it I also added5 cloves of garlic to the meat mixture. My 6 year old son loved it too!! Quick and easy.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
These were the BEST muffins ever!! I made the simple changes as other reviewers suggested, and believed it made all the difference! 3 cups of FRESH blueberries, 1 1/4 cup white 1 1/4 cup of brown sugar. I also topped them with the crumb/streusel topping from the To Die for muffin recipe. PERFECT!!! They were gone in a flash.
