Ham and Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2007
This lasagna was okay. There are some things I will do differently next time--if I make it again. I wish it had been creamier. It had a good flavor, but I guess I was expecting sloppy, rich lasagna. Overall, it was good though. Maybe next time I will use colby jack instead of swiss.

Donna's Famous Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
Not sweet enough for me. The texture was perfect, exactly like I like cheesecake, but I like rich sweets so if I use this recipe again I will add additional sugar. I noticed no one mentioned pan size. I used a 10-inch pan and the cheesecake was about 2 or so inches thick.

Blackened Chicken Pizza with Yellow Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
I must admit, I was looking for the perfect blackened seasoning, so I didn't make the pizza, only the rub. I really really like the rub. I only gave it four stars because it was a little too salty. I'll fix that by making another recipe of it without using salt, then combining the two. I'll make the pizza eventually, but for now, the blackened rub is excellent!

Sensational Sirloin Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
My stomach is soooo full. I just got finished trying these kabobs for the first time, and they were WONDERFUL! I marinated the meat, onions, and bell peppers overnight, then this morning I added the mushrooms and pineapple. I wrapped the meat in bacon before skewering everything, and they turned out perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. I will definitely use this recipe again...soon.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
If I'm gonna eat pound cake, I like it to be heavy and moist. This was too light in consistency for my taste. The almond flavor was a bit overbearing too, but it wasn't bad by any means. I'll probably stick with "The Best Pound Cake" (submitted by Rhonda).

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
I gave this recipe four stars because it was too salty. I liked it a lot though because I like salty food, but next time I will use less cajun seasoning.

Elvis Presley Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
I've already reviewed this cake once, and I still hold firm on my five-star rating. I just wanted to add that I made it this time with pineapple cake mix, and while it was still very good, I prefer it with white cake mix.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
AWESOME! I used three 8-inch round pans. I could have poured out some of the batter and still had a giant cake. I used the cream cheese frosting II recipe as recommended, plus I added a can of Duncan Hines vanilla frosting. Everybody who tried it said it was wonderful. I will save this recipe to use every time I make carrot cake.

Cindy's Country Style Creole Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Wow! This was a great roast. I had to make the pesto behind my husband's back because I knew he wouldn't eat it knowing when went in it. He loved it, no questions asked. I will definitely make it again.

Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I've always loved hashbrown casserole, and this was the recipe I was looking for when I decided to make it for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it, and I thought it was okay. Next time, I'll cook the hashbrowns a little first because they were crunchy. It was also a little dry. Next time, I'll add some chicken broth. Overall, though, it was good.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
This cheesecake was awesome! There were two things that went wrong, but I'll fix them next time. I used an 8-inch pan instead of a 9-inch, and that worked out fine. My problems were that I baked it in a water bath, and the water seeped through the foil and into the crust, which turned out soggy. Also, I used granny smith apples, which had a perfect taste, but I should have cooked them first, because they were a little crunchy for my taste. I made a crumb topping with flour, butter, brown sugar and pecans, then I drizzled caramel topping on the slices before serving them. My family loved it, and I will definitely make it again, but I'll fix my mistakes.

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2005
I'm not an egg custard eater, but it's my husband's favorite. I've tried several different recipes, but this one is his favorite. He eats the whole thing in two days. My only problem is that it's hard to get into the oven without spilling.
