Broccoli Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
Just ok. It was a good concept, but I think I'll stick to regular cheese sauce.

My go-to pizza sauce. Beats jar sauce anyday!

Creamy Avocado-Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
I love avocados in any form. Add sour cream and cream cheese and I'm in heaven. I think I probably added too much avocado--I used Wholly Guacamole because it was easier--but it was really creamy and good. I think it could even use some feta or maybe tomatoes. Great with baked Scoops.

Mitzie's Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
Pretty good. I was surprised it didn't taste like hamburger helper, which is gross. My picky husband liked it too. I ended up adding a lot more beef broth because it was too gummy. It needed a little salt too.

Farfalle Festival

We liked this. Made it as written but added a little more cream so it wouldn't get dry. Great leftover too.

Honey Crunch Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
I'm not a fan of pecans, so I didn't even taste this. But it was devoured quickly, and I was told it's better than original pecan pie.

Pecan Snack

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
Funny, I don't like pecans. For some reason I found myself eating these by the handful. The difference between this recipe and others is absolutely the salt. I LOVE the combination of sweet and salty.

Fat Pete's Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
Perfect! Loved this recipe. The only thing is, it didn't need 2 cups of peanut butter. If you just want it marbled on top, one cup is more than enough. I loved the contrast between the PB and chocolate. Better than regular peanut butter fudge.

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2013
Normally I wouldn't post a review if I made changes to the recipe, but this time the changes were inadvertent, and it turned out good. Turns out my chops were the thin kind, so I put the stuffing on top and broiled them after the foil came off. Also, I thought I had mushroom soup, but I didn't, so I just made gravy from the floured and browned chops. Turned out good!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
This was really good. I used chicken broth instead of wine, and I added some swiss cheese to the sauce. Assembling the chicken was a pain, but once it fried in the butter, the cheese started getting gooey and crispy, and it made it all worth the effort.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
The meatloaf part was really good. That portion of the recipe I will use again. The brown sugar/ketchup part was way too sweet, and they just didn't go well together.

Blackjack Brisket

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2012
Great brisket. I'll use this one again. I was skeptical about using beer for fear it would taste like beer. It did not. It was very rich.

Ham 'n Swiss Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2012
No crazy about this. The canned ham was way too salty, which pretty much ruined the whole thing. The concept is good though, maybe with shaved deli ham instead.

Texas Sheet Cake V

You can't go wrong with a basic chocolate cake. Not quite as good as 20-minute chocolate cake, but definitely satisfies a raging sweet tooth.

Lemon Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
I have never eaten lemon pie before in my life because I just don't like lemons. I made this for my husband because I had some cream cheese to get rid of (before I at the whole thing by itselt), and when I tasted it, I thought it was really good. Subtle lemon flavor, and creamy. Will definitely make this again instead of the old egg version of lemon ice box pie.

The Best Bacon-Tomato Dip

Anything that calls for mayo AND cream cheese is gonna be good, right? Yeah, it was. Yeah, I ate the whole thing in one day. Good with Fritos.

Stuffed Peppers with Creole Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
These were good. Not my best dinner though. I guess I was hoping for something a little more saucy and sloppy. The sauce firmed up on top and they were a tad dry. Some tweaking may help. Could have creoled em up a little more with a little Tony's, but overall a good flavor... Oh, also, the peppers really need to be cooked before stuffing, and 45 seconds was not enough. I microwaved them for about 2 minutes and cooked them in the oven for about 45 minutes. The longer they cook, the better the flavor.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Not bad, but not my favorite recipe. My family turned their noses up, but I ate on them for a few days for something sweet to eat. I cooked them for 25 minutes, and they were overcooked. Since this is not a recipe you can really tell when they're ready, I had to depend on the directions, and at 25 minutes it looked like they were getting browner than I like. Anyway, it was worth a try.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
The first time I made this, I dredged--well, bathed--the chicken pieces in flour, and the sauce was a gooey, stickey mess. Very unattractive too. The flavor, however, was great. I gave it another try, only this time, I sprinkled a little flour over the chicken while it was cooking. It came out perfect. Will definitely make again.
