Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Follow Chefpeons advice, and you'll get PERFECT creme brulee!! I find that superfine sugar is best at the end before broiling/torching. This dessert comes out just as good as a five star restaraunt would serve!

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Great recipe. I found this last minute, and followed it exactly with the exception of the fresh herbs. I didn't have any on hand, so I just put a little dreid thyme and parsley in. It was fabulous!!

Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
These were fabulous....great basic biscotti recipe, and nice to add lots of variations to. And ummm Veggiess, don't be critical and say 'this is Rocco DiSpirito's recipe... if you look back at the reviews, JANDEE submitted this recipe in 2000...not sure Rocco had patented his recipe ten years ago. Great reicpe JANDEE, and thanks for the submission.

Baked Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Follow CookinGheri's advice and make it just like she suggests, and you'll have a dip to die for!! I've made this twice in four days, and added a couple of variations...I eliminated the lemon juice, and changed the mozzarella from 1 cup mozzarella to 1/2 cup, and added 1/2 cup monterrey jack.

Champagne Punch III

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
I served this recipe exactly as written for a Christmas party last weekend, and got raves from everyone who had some (including myself!!) I used Reisling for the wine, and an $8 bottle of champagne. This one's a keeper. Thank you for submitting such a good one!!

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
So good...so easy!! Like a lot of others suggested, I doubled the cookie recipe, which worked perfectly. I also waited until all of cookies were done to pour in the fudge. (which was not as easy as I expected, but worth it in the end!!) Everyone that I had sample these has LOVED them. Thanks for such a great cookie recipe.

Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Fantastic recipe!! Like others have recommended, I used fresh minced garlic (2 cloves) instead of garlic powder, used 1 tsp of each lemon juice, vinegar and oil, and used 1 1/2 cups of sour cream with 1/2 cup of buttermilk (that I made myself with milk and vinegar). We only use this dressing when we have ceasar salad now....we never used store bought anymore. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This has become a favorite in my family. My kids will no longer eat broccoli unless it has this sauce on it!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Soooooo good!! My kids loved these, as did all of their friends. A little warning, though....they're very sugary and sweet. You won't be able to eat too many!!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I made this with huge expectations, based on the reviews. We thought it was just okay. It was very wet, and to be honest, hard to wrap our brain around the fact that it was buffalo chicken, as there was no breading. It was worth a try, but we won't be making it again.

Kimberly's Meaty Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This was okay.....a little bland. Followed the recipe almost exact, with the exception of sauteeing the onions with some garlic. It wasn't horrible, but certainly didn't stand out as the tastiest meatloaf we've ever had.

Kielbasa Appetizers

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I liked this recipe...didn't love it. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and added some crushed red pepper, fresh garlic and a couple spashes of worcestershire. We found it to be very sweet (on the verge of being too sweet) I'm thinking it could have been the barbeque sauce (I used KC Masterpiece-Original), or maybe 1/2 cup of brown sugar is too much...maybe 1/4 cup next time. All in all, great consistency, sauce thickened up really nicely.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
I've made these twice in two weeks....everyone devoured them! As other reviewers suggested, I added a couple drops of tobasco sauce for taste, and a spoonful of sour cream for smoothness. They were prefect. My only problem was that like the picture, I like to use my cake decorator and pipe the egg mixture in, but the bacon has to be TINY to fit through without clogging. So make sure you crumble your bacon as much as possible.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Great recipe...I followed the directions as stated, only adding vanilla, and they were great. Very simple, yet a nice option to banana bread when there are left over bananas!

Elegant Stuffed Chicken and Asparagus Bundles

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly with the exception of using Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing mix instead of cornbread. (In my mind, cornbread and parmesan don't go together) As another member recommended, I made a gravy from the pan drippings, and I'm glad I did...it was a little on the dry side. (Maybe cover it w/tinfoil while it cooks?) The bacon wrapped asparagus was a HUGE hit!! For me though, it took almost twice the time to get the bacon crisp even after turning it over once...maybe ovens vary. But as the recipe title states, it absolutely is an elegant looking meal.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as the directions said, but I seved the fruit in a tortilla bowl, as another member suggested. It was perfect!! It was voted "Best Dish of the Night", and the recipe was requested by almost everyone there!! Thank you, this is a keeper for our family.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
Out of the many Pulled Pork recipes my family has tried, this by far is the best, easiest way to cook it. I make it exactly the way Sarge directs, but I add a second step after I shred the pork once cooled. I put it back in the slow cooker on low, and add a bottle of barbeque sauce to it. Once it is heated through again, it is free for everyone to help themselves.....and they do!!

Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
I thought this was good, but I added a little flavor to it by adding some freshly grated ginger. I also used ground pork instead of ground beef. But the HUGE time saver I found is when I used a bag of mixed cole slaw instead of chopping cabbage. Wrapping can be tough until you get the hang of it, but the tast is worth it.
