Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
Great recipe! Made today using San Luis Sourdough Bread and as written, but added 1/8 tsp of rum flavor - YUM! I was hesitant to soak the bread to saturation as having experienced really soggy burnt bread in the past with other recipes. But I soaked the bread as instructed and couldn't believe it turned out perfect! This recipe is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Made this a couple of nights ago. Did as others have suggested and rubbed the roast w/salt, pepper & granulated garlic. Then pan seared it before placing in the crock pot. It was D-lish AND easy!

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
Made this today for dinner and it was D-lish! Used ground buffalo instead of beef (much leaner), fresh tomatoes instead of stewed (on-hand). and canned black beans (on-hand). A good hearty winter stew ...

Crunchy Romaine Toss

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Great recipe! I cut back the sugar to 2 tbsp, used pecans instead of walnuts, and added some cooked chicken strips. It made a very light & tasty meal!

Best Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Very tasty & easy! Didn't add the pasta only because I didn't have any on hand. Served w/crusty bread - Yum!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
Great recipe! Followed instructions as written - very tasty & easy to make. Used a food processor to slice potatoes (2mm disc was perfect!) and chop onions. 2 hr cook time is too long, though.

Apricot Bars I

Reviewed: May 24, 2005
This is a keeper. I, too, had to bake the 2nd go-around much longer, as the crust was too soft. But the end result was worth the extra time. I used toasted almonds in place of walnuts, as hubby is allergic to walnuts. And, I used fresh apricots mixed w/sugar blended in a food processor and cooked for 5 minutes in lieu of preserves.
