Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

I found the texture to be a bit strange. Didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped for.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

I have never tasted a cookie I did not like...until now. Neither my boyfriend or I would eat them. Tasted like playdough. Perhaps unsalted butter would help???

Cranberry Walnut Relish I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! Even those who don't normally care for cranberries. I only used 6 oz of marmalade to cut a few calories. Even with less marmalade the cranberries were a perfect mix of tart and sweet. I don't know why others said it was too bitter. I did not have that problem at all and I am a sweet tooth.

Used two cups whole wheat flour and one cup white flour. Also used olive oil instead of vegetable. Turned out very yummy!

Great recipe. I would use less flour (3.5 C). I used lemon extract instead of vanilla and added 2 Tbs of poppy seads.

Green Chili Rice Casserole

Amazing! Worth the calories. I used light sour cream (not that it matters at this point) and it still tasted great. I had to cook it a little longer.

Great concept..but very bland. I added extra spices and salt...but still just ok. I made it in the crock pot.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Cooked the meat exactly as directed, I did add vegetables though. I cut up carrots, celery, asparagus, potatoes, onions, mushrooms and garlic and coated them in the herb paste. I placed the veggies under the roast and added some red wine. I then covered just the veggie portion with foil. After an hour I removed the roast and put the veggies back in the oven for 15 more minutes. Yumm.

Smothered Filet Mignon

I didn't like the balsamic flavor with the filet (and I normally love balsamic). It takes away from the wonderful flavor of the steak. The onions are good though!

German Pancake

This is NOT a recipe for pancakes. It is supposed to be like a really thick crepe. Sooo yummy! I made the syrup without the corn syrup and it was fine. I added a mixed berries on top. Perfect.

Wonderful flavor! I doubled the sauce and added some red bell pepper. I've also tried it with chicken, it was good, but I prefer the pork.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
I thought this would have more of an equal amount of black beans and quinoa, but it is mostly black beans with quinoa. I doubled the quinoa and cheyanne to give it a kick and added a few squeezes of lime. I omitted the oil and used cookings spray. I also used chicken broth because I prefer the flavor. Very good side dish for BBQ and mexican dishes.

Grilled Chicken with Herbs

I did not agree with the other reviewers that it had too much vinegar. I would let it marinate at least 3 hours next time. A bleu cheese sauce or balsamic reduction would go nicely on top.

Weird mix of flavors. The tomatoes are overpowering. It needs way more roasted green chili.

Pear Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Awesome! I made a few changes: Crust- I used butter flavored shortening. Filling- Cut pears very thin. I also used vanilla instead of lemon juice Baking- I used a spring form pan and shaped the dough to fit the sides. It was the perfect size and looked beautiful. I was asked if it was store bought. I cooked the pie at 350 for 50 minutes with the sides covered in foil. I then took off the foil and topped the pie. I cooked it for 15-20 more minutes to brown. My boyfriend said it was the best pie he ever had and his grandma makes pies for restaurants. I tried with apples...not as good.

Great! Slice the onions very thin or saute them a little bit first...otherwise they may be a little undercooked.

I thought this had WAY too much salt and I come from a family who has been known to carry salt shakers in their purses. I would at least cut the salt in half.

I coarsely ground espresso and cooked it with the custard. I strained out the beans when I added the cream at the end. I also added chopped almonds at the end of freezing. Yum!
