Tangy Cucumber Salad

This is amazing! Made the dressing exactly as stated and it is awesome. Red onion instead of white and EVOO instead of veg. oil - tastes great and weight loss friendly recipe. Will definitely make again and again!

Marshmallow Peanut Butter Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
Everyone loved this! I wouldn't chill as I found once I did that it was almost impossible to dip the fruit in after that. The kids gobbled it up and request it again and again. Simple and fast!

Stuffed Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
Excellent the day made but not one to reheat. I found the breadcrumbs were a little much and overpowered the flavours, added extra cheese. I would make again without the breadcrumbs and more cheese. Definitely not a make-ahead recipe.

Smoky Chipotle Orange Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
I made this for a camping trip ahead of time. I think the mistake the previous reviewer made was adding the entire can of chipotle peppers - you are just to add the adobo sauce they are soaking in. We added several TBS and a couple of peppers b/c my husband loves the flavour. I also added some sweet chili sauce and it was the PERFECT addition. Play with the flavour while you make it. Everyone at the campfire voted this a hit!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
Super yummy, much better than a previous recipe I had tried. I added bacon, onion, worches. sauce and crab meat to mine as well as some extra cheese on top. Made so much extra (probably the crab) that I stuffed the leftovers into a big bell pepper and served as dip! Very delicious! Will definitely make again.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Christmas tradition with these bad boys! They are so good! I hate wieners and I LOVE these. I have yet to have anyone who doesn't like them. I buy big packs of the little cocktail weenies and smoked bacon, I cut the bacon package in half and wrap each one in the half piece of bacon - no toothpicks needed this way! I foil line the baking sheet, and wrap each one on the foil, once they are assembled in neat little lines I sprinkle each one with brown sugar. For parties we add them to the crock pot and pour the grease and sugar mixture over top - keep stirring once in awhile so they don't burn. The time consuming task of wrapping is worth it. My husbands favorite treat he requests on fathers day breakfast :)

Very Special Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Best red sauce recipe ever! You could eat it alone, it's that good. It is spicey, so cut way back on the cayenne pepper if you are sensitive as it does over-power the dish. Husband and kids loved it. I used just a plain old cooking wine, but will use a nice red wine when I get the chance to find one. If you omit the ground beef, it's a great base sauce for chili, spagetti, lasagna, etc... Definitely will make more again and freeze for later. I added fresh herbs and they tasted awesome. Used finely chopped canned tomatoes with peppers because I'm lazy and don't like big chunky tomatoes. Came out really nicely and tasted even better the next day!

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This recipe is on the sweet side but you can definitely curb that by adjusting the ingrediants if you like. You DO NOT have to double up the dressing, it makes plenty. I didn't even need to use all of the mayo. It tasted great and I really enjoyed it. I'm fairly picky when it comes to macaroni salads. Tastes best when fully chilled. Something we will make again and definitelye experiment with different veggies. Colourful and perfect for a picnic or potluck event.

Easy to make and turned out well. I used it in a layered dip and everyone loved it. Not the best I've ever tasted, but pretty close, will make again.

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
This one just didn't do anything for me. Too expensive and the results were disappointing. I followed the exact recipe and it lacked the flavour I expected. My husband said it was okay but definitely not for me.

Busy Day Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
Easy, Fast, Tasty. This is ready in minutes! Everyone really enjoyed but the onion is quite strong, so make sure you flip the chicken and mix in with the rice and sauce just after cooking and before serving.

Apple Butter I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2005
This recipe is so easy and so yummy! I made it in a few hours as my crockpot seems to work a lot faster than the norm. I boiled for 1 hour on high, stirred and let it cook on low for several hours while I made supper and went about my day. I did throw it into the blender and was worried about the consistancy, but after canning and leaving overnight, it was perfect. This has to be the best apple butter I have ever tasted. Used tart green apples and it came out perfect, not to sweet or over-powering - apple butter IS meant to go on toast. People that complained about the sweetness must be eating it right from the jar. Would have liked a more in depth explanation on how to store unused jars - refridgerate? cold room? Thanks for a great recipe!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
I used half parm and half of the guyere? turned out amazing. I grated fresh so maybe that helped. I mixed it with fresh pasta and it was excellent. Easy, simple and delicious. Had dinner ready in 15 minutes. Definitely will make again. Better than any restaurant alfredo I've had and that says a lot!

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Everyone loved this, my 5 y/o daughter calls them cheeseburger chickens. Even my picky eater asks me to make this all the time. I made 8 servings but I didn't double the oil - worked out great!
