Coconut Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
Baker's beware! This bread is addictive. It is really delicious. Janis is right the almond extract is very good with the coconut. I used unsweetened coconut and that worked great plus I sprinkled raw unrefined sugar on top before baking. What a great way to satisfy coconut cravings! Thanks for a superb quick bread recipe!

Mayonnaise Cake I

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
I guess mayonnaise sucks up the chocolate and sugar in this concoction, because I could taste neither. It did have a nice dark moist appearance, though.

Graham Crackers

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
These are so good! I needed graham cracker crumbs for pie crust. I turned to this trusted site and came across this recipe. These are so much better than the store bought. I used whole wheat graham flour instead of just whole wheat. I'm not sure what the difference is. I, too had to use more milk . Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe!

Zucchini Bread IV

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
This site is so awesome! First a great recipe, then the reviewers help to make it even better I took some of the other reviewers advice and added more zucchini, 1/2 cup honey for 1 cup sugar and used half whole wheat flour. I like it spicy so I added even more cinnamon and oh yeah ,about 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. I have only one loaf pan so I used that, plus one round cake pan. The cake pan bread was baked through more evenly, really turned out lovely. The cake pan one was done in about 40 minutes. This is the only zucchini bread recipe I'll need from now on. Thanks!

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: May 26, 2006
Boy does this bring back memories of my favorite aunt who is since deceased. She was an awesome baker, and always had yummy cakes. She called hers kentucky butter-rum cake. I made this and only change was adding rum extract to the sauce. This cake just gets better the longer it sits. Thanks Susanne !

Mexican Mole Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
I can't get over how good and easy this is. I used fresh garlic and re-hydrated some red chile peppers and minced them for this recipe as that's what I had, so that took a little more time. But my gosh the flavor is wonderful! Thanks for sharing !

Amish Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
Did not like this cookie. The excessive oil and then the buttermilk in this together gave a most unpleasant after taste . Tasted kind of like vinegar and oil salad dressing. Good on lettuce, terrible in cookies.

Chocolate Walnut Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
This fudge turned out perfect. It was well worth the bit of time it took to boil the mixture . One thing I found was; even with constant stirring on the heat, I still scorched it somewhat. You really need to be careful with that. The beating was a little exhausting ,but the fudge was so delicious, creamy consistency, and set up so beautifully. Thanks so much Amber, for submitting this great fudge recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2005
These were ok. I didn't care for the texture, too doughy, too soft, and they fell apart when picked up.I think I'll stick to chocolate chip cookie recipes that have no pudding in them from now on. I think that caused my texture problem. With all the raving about these cookies I just had to try these. I think they're overated. My daughter liked them at any rate. So maybe it's just me.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
This cookie came out looking like professional bakers style. Perfect shape and appearance. The taste is superior to any other oatmeal raisin I've ever eaten. Perfectlyl chewy.I used half bread flour and half whole wheat. I thought it may make them less cakey textured. I also added more spices. For the white sugar I used splenda. Thanks for experimenting Beth, and then passing it on to the rest of us.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
Finally the perfect macadamia white choc. cookie. I wanted to make it exactly as stated but turns out I only had 3 ounces white chocolate and 2.5 ounces of macadamia nuts. So I searched for something to add for the texture and flavor. I found a bag of brown sugar/maple instant oatmeal and had about 1/4 cup regular oats. I knew when I tasted the dough that it was a winner. I really loved the oats in it and really it was so good made like this. I'll bet it is excellent as submitted also. Thank you for this recipe .

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2005
Very good enchilada recipe. I think three pounds of beef is excessive for the portions stated. Next time I will use half that amount of meat and maybe the same amount of spice.

I loved this recipe. I made the noodles as I have lots of farm fresh eggs. I didn't have white onions so I used green onions and I had no boullion cubes. Still turned out super. Thanks Missy

Sour Cream Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
This is an especially delicious lemon pie. I made a whole wheat crust, then for the filling I followed one of the other reviewers advice and upped the lemon juice ,used more zest and less milk and I added 1 tsp. of lemon extract. For the milk I used soy milk and instead of sugar I used splenda. It turned out wonderfull even with all the low fat and no sugar substitutions.I liked this pie alone ,with no topping. Whipped topping seemed to take away from the pure lemon taste. Definiteley one of the best pies I've ever eaten. Thanks Michelle!
