Baked Maryland Lump Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
I'll start out by saying that I have never had a genuine Maryland Crabcake so keep that in mind but these turned out awesome. I didn't use breadcrumbs, I used saltines, and I used an 8oz jar of lump and another of claw meat and one egg instead of the substitute but other than that I stuck to the recipe. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised that we ended up eating all of them between the two of us. Thank you so much for a really easy and great tasting recipe.

Perfect Sesame Chicken

This is one of my husband's favorite dishes. The coating for the chicken is wonderful and I find myself picking at the chicken pieces before I even get dinner plated.

Mashed Potato Quesadilla

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I love these! Very easy, very quick and they work well for someone who ends up eating alone a lot and also has a husband who REFUSES to eat leftovers. I think I made these three or four times in the first week after I read the recipe.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
These eggs are awesome! I don't add the mustard, simply because I don't like it in my eggs but without it they are crazy good.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
My husband loved this which makes it five stars for me! I enjoyed it as well but for the first time since we married he actually finished his plate before me and informed me that it was "probably the best burrito I've ever had." This won't be something we eat often only because it isn't the healthiest thing out there but we will certainly be having it in place of a run to the local taco bell. Thank you!

French Crepes

These came out perfectly, even my husband was able to make a few (it was his first time ever). I would use this recipe over any other.

Martha's Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
This is the recipe I have used for the past few years. We were given it by a lady called Martha and I wonder if it is the same person that this one is named after. Anyway, it is delicious. I have never had any problems getting the consistency right and the flavor is always perfect. You should find when you are ready to put it in the pan that it has a consistency similar to cake batter. The only change I have ever made is to cook my celery and onions an little before adding so that there is no crunch once it is done. My VERY picky husband gets so excited when I tell him I am making this. I don't think I will have a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner without it again.

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
This was so delicious! It was exactly the flavors I was looking for. The only change I made was out of convenience, I didn't add shrimp and I used fresh ground pork. I wonder how amazing it would have been if I had followed that part of the recipe. I also cooked my wontons seperately in water and then added them to the broth at serving time. For my broth I added some sesame oil and soy sauce and it was superb. Definately going to be making this over and over again.

Shrimp Versailles

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
This was sooo good but incredibly rich. It was exactly the flavors I wanted. My changes were only that I used butter instead of margarine, added garlic and used shrimp and scallops. When I sauteed the scallops a lot of moisture came out so I added that to the sauce which worked really well. The best part is my husband hates this kind of stuff so I have a full serving for lunch tomorrow as well.

Buddy's and Bubba's Homemade Dog Food

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
I decided to test this out on my two dogs before giving the recipe to my Mum (her dog is 14 years old and has some health issues). So far my two love this food. For my 10lb dog she gets it all by herself but the 40lb dog gets a half and half mixture with his regular food, just because he has a big appetite. Now that I have made it a few times I have switched up the ingredients a little, exchanging pretty much whatever meats and vegetables I have on hand but the rest stays pretty much the same. I also took another reviewers advice and give them a spoonful of regular yogurt with their dinner to cut down on their gas. I am happy that I found this recipe because my dogs literally dance around waiting for their dinner now.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
Not one time that I have made this have I had any to take home with me. I leave out the water chestnuts just because I can't stand the texture of them but other than that I leave everything else the same. Make this a few hours ahead so that your dry soup will soak up the moisture. I serve mine with King's Hawiian bread. Awesome.

Sausage Biscuit Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
I was a little skeptical at the simplicity of these but they were absolutely great. My husband said they were perfect for dipping in syrup. I thought they were tasty as is. They are good for those mornings with lots of mouths to feed and not enough time to cook an all out breakfast. I would also think these were great to throw in a bag on those early morning road trips.

Grandma's Coconut Pies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
After years of making these I lost the piece of paper with the recipe on it. This is the only way to make these. I see a lot of recipes that call for flour in the mixture and I shudder to think what that would do to the custardy texture. My husband could not stop eating them.

Cocktail Meatballs IV

I made these in the crockpot with frozen meatballs. They were great. These will be a sure thing for any parties that I host, especially where drinking is involved since it seems to really help soak up the excess.

Cream of Mushroom and Soy Sauce Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I made these when my husband came back from a deployment and we both thought they were incredible. They are very easy to make and literally fall apart when you start to eat them. The sugar and saltiness of the soy sauce make a nice mix. I didn't cook mine in a slow cooker, I just browned the chops and then threw it all in a baking dish and baked them for as long as I could stand. Excellent with rice!
