Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Made this dough/pastry recipe just as written, but added (with the water/egg mixture a half tsp white vinegar). The pastry when cooked was light, flaky and delicious! I will keep this recipe as my regular one for any pies (meat or fruit).

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Best chicken pot pie I've ever made.... and I forgot to put the peas in! Still tasted awesome. I made the pie crust pastry from scratch though. Light and fluffy, filling flavorful and not runny, yet not too dry either.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Wow. Fantastic! Added 1 1/2 cups of chopped walnuts as well. Made just a little over 3 dozen cookies. They were gone not even 12 hours later (I shared them with friends and they all loved them. "No, I'll only have one...okay, maybe two.... Can I have just ONE more?" Too funny.) Great recipe. But I only got two cookies myself before they were gone darnit!

Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
Holy this was good!!! I added a couple sliced up slices of sandwich meat ham. Awesome soup, SUPER easy and SUPER quick to make! Also, I was lazy and just used leftover mashed potatoes that I made from real potato flakes instead of cooking whole potatoes! Really good soup! Filled my tummy!

Strawberry Cheesecake Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
My daughter and her friends LOVED this snack. Good idea is let them cool just a bit(not so they are cold though) lying flat before you serve. They don't ooze as much, and don't spread the mix too close to the edge of the tortilla, in case they do ooze. Less mess if you don't. Of course, food that oozes, is always the tastiest!!! Grape jelly w/cream cheese was the most popular.

Raisin Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2004
I doubled the recipe, but added only 3/4 of a cup of raisons total, and also a good cup of chopped pecans, poured it into two 9" pie crusts, and baked for 15 minutes, cooled for one hour and they turned out great. I didnt bake them as long as recipe called for as they would have come out burnt. Taste tested on friend, and he survived with a smile!
