Great recipe made as is, or good for tweaking.

Good. I like them better in a pie than fresh. Easy pie.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Shockingly good. And I'm not generally one who cares for sugar cookies that much.

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Good. I made it as is, except used only 1 cup choc. chips and added in some craisins and a little flax. Better than the store kind, but I'm not much a granola bar lover anyway.

Black Beans with Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Good, basic recipe. I cooked my beans on high in the crockpot for about 4-5 hours before adding the other ingredients. Don't have a pressure cooker. I left out the tomato and carrots also. I will make again.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
Very easy, especially since I just tossed it all in the crockpot (no working kitchen at the moment). Tasted fine, but not enough seasoning for me. I had to add bbq sauce on my sandwich.

Chocolate Chip Meringue

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Good. Although I should have cooked them longer. The "leave them in the oven for 3 hours" method is probably best, but I didn't want to tie up the oven that long, so I was happy to see this recipe. I used peppermint extract instead of vanilla, a few drops of green food coloring, and mini chips, and they were just as I remembered as a child. Great for Christmas.

Asparagus Appetizers

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
The word "blue cheese" needs to be in the title, as that is all I could taste. I'm not a wimp about strong cheese, but I didn't want to taste it so much. And there was way too much filling, so maybe just reducing it a lot would help (I had already reduced it some). However, these are great for making ahead. They froze nicely and cooked up well.

Good, but nothing special. Maybe I should haven't left out the cilantro. Might make it again. The kids (ages 4 and 6) loved it.

Pumpkin Pie Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Very good, and so nice not to have to dirty up my counters making a crust. They were the hit of the Halloween party. I did use an 8 x 11 pan, based on other reviews, and so I had to about double the cooking time. However, I think I probably could have made the crust stretch to fit in a 9 x 13. If you want a real thin crust, then use the larger pan.

Delicious. This makes a lot, so I halved it. Substituted plain yogurt for half the mayo.

Cream of Mushroom Soup II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
Great! I puréed it to make it more acceptable for my kids. Put some in a casserole, and the rest in the freezer. I'm so pleased to be able to NOT use store-bought cream of mushroom soup.
