Classic Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
We tried for the second week in a row and the result was again disappointing: two very flat and dense loaves. We are using them for paninis, because the taste is not bad, but when we make bread at home, we expect them to rise, especially when we follow the recipe exactly and even left longer... but it never doubled the size. Not sure if I will give it another try.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I made it exactly as in the recipe and it came out amazing. I can tell that it's the best crockpot beef recipe I've tried. I will be making it many more times!

Tortellini Salad with Grilled Tomato Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I really loved the recipe, but the canned tomato paste left a weird taste. I will try with a tube paste or omit. No doubt it's a great recipe!

Middle Eastern Kibbeh

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I was surprised to find a recipe for kibbeh here... it's very similar to my recipe which is also very popular in Brazil. I finally found bulgur CAN be found here and the first thing I made was kibbeh. My recipe takes toasted pine nuts (about 1/2 cup) mixed in and you can place the whole mixture in a 9x13 baking pan (foil or glass) and bake it at 350F for 30/35 minutes. It's very popular to serve this way as well. I use to make a little vinaigrette to serve on the side: diced tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped parsley, some hot pepper drops and chopped parsley. My husband fell in love with it and the next time we'll make patties and grill the kibbeh. Thanks for posting, I'm sure everybody will enjoy this dish very much.

Coconut Cream Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I was disappointed with this recipe. I don't know if it was the coconut cream that added to a mix made it overly sweet. I even cut in half the sugar of the frosting, but it didn't help much. I learned to be careful with recipes using cake mix, because the mix is already too sweet for my taste. Any extra suggar added will be already too much.

Roasted New Potato Salad With Olives

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
This is the potato salad recipe I've been waiting for. I made it exactly as the recipe states, just double the garlic. It came out fantastic! Thank you so very much!
