About this Cook
I am in college and have a limited budget to cook on. I don't know if anyone else has trouble cooking for just one person, but I would rather cook for more. I grew up with a family of 4 and learning alot about cooking quick meals. My mother was a teacher and couldn't spend all her time cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, cookies and pies are my favorite. I would like to learn alot more about main dishes for me. Or anything really, if there is anyone who would like to teach I'll be happy to learn!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always cooked the fast simple meals for our family, but my grandmother cooked from afternoon until supper time.My stepmother cooks desserts like its no ones buisness.
My cooking triumphs
I am proud of my Apple and Cherry pies. I've never entered a contest.I also make dozens upon dozens of cookies during the Christmas holiday, my step-mother has a large family.
My cooking tragedies
One time i was at a friends apartment and we all were making supper and my job was to make a devil's food cake. Needless to say since we were crammed into a tiny kitchen some how the eggs slipped my mind. I do have trouble with making cupcakes come out mushroom perfect.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
This is the best choco chip cookie recipe i've found (with adjustments)I first followed the recipe to the T (despite my reservations) and found they missed a couple a key things. Cookies tastes alright but looked like a mess. A few changes and BAM, best ever. Room temp (softened) Vegetable Oil Spread Sticks (butter made them EXTREMLY dry like dried out play-dough)and its hard to cream sugar with liquid butter Cream together softened butter and white sugar FIRST, then slowly add in brown sugar Room temp(ish) eggs - I open and mix all the eggs in a dish and let them sit as I get everything else out and ready

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
I only gave 4 stars because I made some changes. Instead of a packet of taco seasoning I used "Taco seasoning I" found on this website and added it as soon as the meat was cooked. While the meat was defrosting I started the onions in a separate pan and caramelized them (adds a kick of sweet to the chili) and added them in once the meat was browner a seasoned. I also half everything (as much as possible) in the recipe. It's a GREAT base recipe and allows for a lot of personal modifications. Oh and since I halved it I just used one can of light red beans and not both kinds
