Doubletree Hotel's Cookies

I found this recipe to be too cakey for my own taste, probably due to using 4 eggs. I think 3 eggs would be plenty.

Onion, Garlic, Cheese Bread

I just made this bread tonight and the whole house smelled like a pizzeria. It was delicious! I didn't use as much garlic as it called for, but I made up for it by adding some onion powder. This bread is just like the bread we used to get in Solvang, Ca. Thank you so much, Steve.

Kitty Kat Bars

I tried this recipe for the first time today and I think it tastes great. My 4 year old daughter just loved it. I'll be making this again for Christmas but instead of using round crackers, I'll try using the rectangle kind. Good recipe, Dee.

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

These were good, but I think I needed to add a little more butter and salt, as I didn't measure. It also needed more than 30 minutes to cook. Otherwise, a quick and simple side dish. I'll be making this again. Maybe next time I'll add sliced garlic. Thanks, Bob.

Tiger Butter III

I made this for Christmas to give as gifts, but there wasn't any left, so I had to make another batch. It's really good. I added some peanut butter chips along with the butterscotch chips and it turned out great. I think I'll be making this throughout the year. Thanks Mary Ann.

Creamy Spinach Dip

With cream cheese in it, how can you go wrong? I really loved this dip, although I added sour cream instead of the yogurt and I cut the recipe in half, which still made plenty. I've been looking for a different Spinach Dip and now I've found it. I just hope there's enough left for our New Years Day party.

Green Sauce Enchiladas

I thought these enchiladas were great. I added 2 cloves of garlic, onions and a can of green chiles to the chicken mixture, and I used Longhorn cheddar cheese. I just loved them. I really liked the rice idea because it helps to make the filling go further. (I usually make as many enchiladas as I can so I can freeze the rest for another day.) Also, to prevent your enchiladas from getting a little tough on the bottom from baking, try adding a bit of water to the pan before assembling the enchiladas. Thanks, Dawn, for such a great recipe.

Buttermilk Biscuits I

Last night I was looking for a simple recipe for biscuits and I found a winner. I didn't have self-rising flour, so I used regular flour and added one cup of bisquick to it. I also added a little extra sugar. Be sure when you are rolling the dough out you don't roll it too thin, as your biscuits won't be as fluffy. I also drizzled a little butter over the top before baking and they came out wonderful. I was very pleased with them, as I have been known to bake hockey pucks.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This was delicious. I only had one can of cream of mushroom, so I added a can of beef broth. I also added sliced onions. What could be better on a cold, rainy night. My family loved it!

Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Sarah, these cookies are the best!!! I couldn't stop eating them. I found the dough was a little too moist, so I added a little more flour just until the dough didn't stick to my hands. I also added some peanut butter chips. These cookies were everything I was hoping for. Soft, chewy and moist. This will become the only peanut butter cookie recipe I'll ever use...except for when my mom visits. She enjoys the crisp kind.

Calico Beans

I had a recipe similar to this but I lost it. These beans turned out pretty good the first time I made them, but the second time I added some ketchup, worchestershire sauce and molasses and that was more like the recipe I remember. Great for a summer bar-b-q or picnic.

Alfredo Sauce

I had an idea of the kind of dish I wanted to fix, so this is what I did. I cut up 2 chicken breasts into chunks and sauteed them until done in a pan. I added steamed broccoli and 2 sliced green onions to the chicken and then poured this Alfredo sauce over it. I doubled the sauce. I didn't use as much parmeasan, but I did thicken the sauce slightly with a little flour and water. It was DELICIOUS and there was hardly any left overs. I also didn't use the heavy cream, but I used half and half instead. I've finally found the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo I've been looking for and it's as good as anything you'll ever get in a restaurant. Thanks for the inspiration.

Dry Rub for Ribs

This was very good. I added about a 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder to the mix. I rubbed it on steaks and everyone loved it. This was my first attempt using a dry rub and I was very pleased. I'll be using this again.

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

This was really good. The best I've tried. It turned out creamy and yummy and my daughter made me set some aside for her lunch tomorrow. The only thing I did different was to add a little chopped onion. What a terrific way to use up left-over ham. I also liked that it had 3 different kinds of cheese.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Oh my, was this ever good. I've got a sweet tooth and didn't feel it was sweet enough for me, so I added some extra sugar. Everyone loved it!!! We've got ample Apricots available right now, so I thought I would try it with them and again, it turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

Almond Buttercrunch Candy I

December 19, 2012: Over the years of making this candy, I have simplified everything. No longer do I put chocolate on the bottom. I now use 3 cups of toasted nuts & this year I used a combo of cashews, almonds & pecans. In past years, I've used white chocolate & cashews, which has become a family favorite. This year, I used Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate Bars. After I poured the hot nut filled toffee out on a parchement paper lined cookie sheet, I laid the bars down on top & they melted like butter. Next I melted Lindt White Coconut Chocolate & flung it over the dark, melted chocolate. I used a tooth pick to score back & forth across the chocolate, which made a beautiful pattern. The less sweet dark chocolate pared well with the toffee, which is plenty sweet enough & this creation is yet another favorite of mine. The possibilities are endless! Enjoy & have fun being creative!

Bob's Blue Cheese Dressing

This is a really good dressing. Thank you so much, Bob...I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Bottled just doesn't cut it and what a pleasure it was to have a salad at home with this dressing on it. Wonderful flavor!

This was really good popcorn. I didn't bake it as long as it called for, but it turned out just fine. Very tasty! I think there might be an error in the listing of 2 cups of Oil...I did NOT use that much oil to pop the popcorn in. I used my Stir-Crazy popper instead of using a pot to pop it in, and 1 cup of unpopped popcorn made plenty. I also added a teaspoon a vanilla when I added the baking soda. Thanks Yvonne...you've given me something new to make now. :O)

Key Lime Pie I

This was the first Key Lime Pie I've ever made and it turned out really good. My 5 year old daughter just loved it! So did everyone else. I added a few drops of green food coloring, too. Very pretty pie, until my daughter stuck her fingers in it to taste it! Thanks Irene! Great recipe! By the way, Irene, are you by any chance related to Leonardo DiCaprio?
